Welcome to the iPhoneography User Forum > Any other good photo borders apps?

I know of a few apps that come with decent photo borders, CrossProcess, RetroCam, Joy Camera, to name a few but if I search for "photo borders" or "photo frames" on the app store I only get a deluge of gimmick apps with awful looking borders. Anyone know of any app(s) that provide high quality photo/faux photo borders (like e.g. Polaroid borders, white paper borders that have some texture or smudges etc.)?

There are a few that come with border possibilities. For instance, PS Mobile has a few bordering options (simple, but useful). The Edwin app also have some border choices (although it is $4.99!). Photo Finish has various frames, borders, etc. that are very handy, and Lo-Mob, as part of its effects, has various effect/borders (emulsions, instant, slide, photocard). Polarize has a neat polaroid-like border, and Photogene allows you to play a bit with a "border/edge effect option (it is a bit limited but could be fun).

Hipstamatic provides different "film effects" by applying edges/borders that vary with the film and lens combination you choose. I'm sure there are others, but those are off the top of my head right now!

Have fun,

N

Thanks for the tips Nacho! To be honest I actually counted Photo Finish among those gimmick apps mentioned above. I guess what I'm looking for are simply just faux borders of real photos like e.g. Lo-Mob and Polarize provides them. I was just wondering if there are any apps that provide such or similar borders without the need to apply an effect (which is the case with Lo-Mob, Polarize, Camera-bag etc.). Btw I hope that classicINSTA will be able to be updated with the originally intended faux borders that had to be removed thanks to Apple.

@ sascha you can tap the photo in lo-mob and turn off every effect except the frame. I do it alll the time.

Yep! Robert beat me to it. And yes, I hope that ClassicINSTA will regain those borders.

Have fun Sascha,

I like the border that CrossProcess puts on the images, so I've used that and just turned off the color filters. Glad to learn the Lo-Mob trick!

It'd be great to have something like Alien Skin Exposure 3, but dealing with film borders only, and for the iPhone. If any of you knows of such an app, please let me know!
There are some apps that offer borders, but most of them just look absolutely ridiculous. I'd love to have something that adds real character. Really like the Hipstamatic borders, but those are not applicable separately.

:)

Many Apps have some "regular" borders that may be applied, PhotoGene & Camera+ are 2 I regularly use. I had a great App, FotoMuse which allowed me to add borders, textures or both. With my iPhone 4 though I don't seem to get any borders without textures and it appears as though this is no longer supported by the developer.

Sloppy Borders may be worth a look

FYI: I used Sloppy Borders on my 3GS and it was great...until it stopped working. It crashes every time I open it on iPhone 4 and no longer works on my 3GS. If it was fixed it would be the perfect solution.

Came across an app called Iron Camera yesterday which has some quite nice borders, films and blurs - old fashioned hipstamatic interface too - saves at 1600 x 1600. Not bad for 0.59p

Missed this one as its listed in the utilities part of the app store, not photography

I'm looking for a border I can apply on the iPad and customize. Write in Mardi Gras 2012. I am shooting an event and am emailing out the images after photographing it. I will pay real money for it too!
