Welcome to the iPhoneography User Forum > iPhone 4 to iPhoto - white eye

Hi all

Has anyone else had a problem taking a photo with the iPhone 4 on flash - then when it's imported into iPhoto (and also on the iPhone) it gives subjects not 'red eye' but 'white eye' and iPhoto's red eye editing tool is unable to remove it...? any suggestions?

Cheers
William

I have the exact same problem...

I'm having the same issue as well. It's annoying because red eye correction tools on Picasa, etc. won't work because they're white, not red. Hope they come up with a fix soon.

I have the same issue. And I cannot seem to find any information on how to resolve this problem. I have tried several photo editing pages without any help. I have a bunch of, basically, ruined photographs now of family and friends. Hopefully Apple will come up with a fix already. This is there problem that should have been tested in the first place before the product was distributed. I have only had the iPhone 4 since mid November.

Apple told me that the latest update had a correction for this. I just updated and it's BS. The fix will probably be in the next version of Iphone but it will be too late for us unless we want to dish out more cash. I spent it in the first place for the stupid flash and gave up my perfectly good 3GS.

It is really annoying, I have wasted many good shots over this.

Best fix is using the edit feature, and then use"auto enhance on"
It is the best fix I found but only helps after the photo is taken.
It would be better if you could prevent this in the first place

I'm having same problem. Whats he point of a flash if it gives everyone white eye effect? All my photos taken at night are ruined by this problem. The red eye fix does not work for White eye. I have read somewhere its is to do with the flash being an LED flash. Apple need to address this problem pronto. I am thinking of taking mine back to store for refund, as the flash is useless for people shots because of this.
