Time Lapse disappointment

It's Christmas day evening, so I'm keeping this post quick and short.

Having tried and failed to achieve time lapse photos using Pics, i decided to give the full version of Camera Timer a go. Despite achieving satisfactory results with my test (5 time lapse photos, 1 taken every 60 seconds over a 5 min period), on Christmas day I decided to set up my iPhone to capture the family meal (60 time lapse photos, 1 taken every 60 seconds over a 60 min period). Sadly Camera Timer has failed me, and for some (yet) unknown reason it stopped after the first 3 shots.

Has anyone out there successfully taken time lapse photos? and if so what app or apps are you using?
