You redeem these promo codes from with in iTunes, by selecting "REDEEM" which should be listed in the Quick Links towards the top right hand side of your iTunes home page. Click on Redeem, and then enter the promo code, like you would an iTunes voucher, and that's it you get the app related to that promo code.
