New iPhone Photo App: Blur™ Tripod

From the developers of the Blur™ Tripod comes their companion app with the same name, Blur™ Tripod.

Description from the AppStore: Blur™ Software is a simple to use iPhone photography application that enables you to:

  • Get in the picture with a time delay setting
  • Take multiple pictures with one press of the button and set the delay between photo’s
  • Create your own time lapse movies, using your Mac or PC
  • Built in Camera Level enables better quality printing

Eliminate motion and vibration by coupling Blur™ Software with our Blur™ Tripod Adapter & Mini Tripod enabling you to create brilliant blur free photo’s and vibration free video’s.

Editors comments: Designed to accompany the Blur™ Tripod, this app is very simple to use and has some very nice features like the level indicator. I do however have a couple of issues with this app, which are:

  1. There is no audible countdown indicator, something that in my opinion is a must in any self-timer app.
  2. This is the BIGGEST and most major problem, the 1st shot taken in any mode (including single shot mode) does not get saved to the camera roll, so if you set the timer to take 2 photos you will only get 1!! This is clearly unacceptable and MUST be resolved ASAP by the developer.

Overall this is a nice looking, simplistic self-timer app that is sadly let down by a major bug. If it wasn't for this bug, this app would have got my recommendation for a simple no frills self-timer app, but for now my vote stays with the slightly more expensive FotoTimer [AppStore Link].

UPDATE: Issue number 2 that I raised above is not a problem, it just looks like when I was testing the app I was impatient and was exiting the app to soon.  I have retried this and all photos are correctly saved, so thanks to Mike from Mobile Mechatronics for pointing out my error.

I am now happy to recommend this app for anyone looking for a simple to use self-timer app.

Hi... Thanks for the review. If you wait 15 to 20 seconds without leaving the application you all pictures will be processed. Currently we can take multiple pictures every 2 seconds, however it takes longer than that (About 10 seconds) for each picture to be processed and saved to the camera roll.

During the waiting period you cannot leave the application.

We will be adding an audio tone when the picture(s) have been taken and will also be making an update to the user interface to disable the buttons, until the the pictures have been processed.

We do appreciate your review and should have added the instructions to the application.
