Description from the AppStore: Vintage Video Maker will make any of your iPhone videos look like authentic old school movie from the 20's, or like a groovy home video from the 60's.
Just take a video from our app (if you own iPhone 3GS) or load one of your videos, and than choose one of three effects:
20's Movie- Black & White Video
- 60's Home Video
You can assign a typical piano music from old silent movies or a sound of the movie projector running. To make them look even more authentic you can also accelerate the video.
For example, we highly recommend to try this combination:
- 20's Movie Effect + Piano Sound + 2x Times Acceleration. - Any of your videos will turn into a funny fragment from a silent film comedy from the 20's.
We have tried this lots of times with many different videos and every time the resulting video turns out to be extremely funny!
Also note, that this app is really easy to use - just two or three taps and your vintage movie is ready!

Editors comments: If this app delivers what it promises, then this could be a great app, and one that if I have a 3GS I would definitely buy. The only issue I have with this developer is their website, which is outdated and does not include this app or some of their others, and where are the sample movies they shot that would encourage us to part with our money?
If any of you buy this app, then please email me a link to your videos and I'll post them for all to see.

yeah the super sketch website and lack of samples is totally why i haven't bought this yet. that and the grain looks lame in the appstore pics.
Found these online. Effect looks pretty good. But this is only 1 effect. Others not shown

Well, I just bought this app and I got to say my first impressions are pretty good. The movie modes and the music that are in this app work well. It's a lot of fun. The possibilities for this app are good. I can't post the videos now as I am on the way to work but I will tonight.
this is the first of many others video effects i'm sure are about to show up in the appstore...
But besides the quality of the filters, or how original the effect is, one thing i'll always be concerned about from now on will be the speed of those treatments on full def. video.
That is gonna be a big issue. I know what it's like to wait 3/4 hours (and it used to be a lot more) for some render to be done on multi-core computers, so how'll that turn out on a phone, because a couple of minutes waiting there sure will always already feel very long...
and i just found this, you can peek at the menus & render time...

Buy it so far its great a lot of fun......I hope to see more video apps....
I went ahead and bought this app and I love it. One of my wishes had been to be able to use B&W videos directly on my iPhone. this works really well. the crazy piano music is funny and more of a novelty as you dont have to use any sound effects at all. Great app. I wouldnt mind some more effects, but I'm happy for these at the price level.
Gotta agree with Jamie and Tom. This is a really fun app and well worth the price. There are many more possibilities for this thing, and hopefully the developer will keep on adding stuff.
It is quite funny that after MONTHS of not updating his website... the mention of his sketchiness & lack of updating & promotion within his website... It's now all included ;p
What else should be say on here to get immediate attention ?
=)
@SCW. They may have updated their website, but where's their sample videos? after all they do say "We have tried this lots of times with many different videos and every time the resulting video turns out to be extremely funny!"
hahaha so true... I have contacted them several times in the past 18 months & only ever had one short cold reply. I think the developer might just be... well I will just keep thinking it ;p
Ok... I bought it!
Video Edit Test: http://www.flickr.com/photos/thescw/4054299561/
iPhone 3GS video recorded using a Gizmon Fisheye Lens. Then edited with Vintage Video Maker "60's theme" @ 1.5x speed & double dipped with vintage "B&W theme" over top of the other @ 1x speed No Audio.
Pretty nice results the original was 27sec it took almost 2.5 mins to edit/process the result.
