Following the feedback from readers of this blog, the developer of Videomatic, Greg Fodor has been in touch to say he has listened to our comments and has made changes to his app, enabling the following features.
- Slow Motion - Slows movies down.
- Fast Forward - Speeds em up, and makes everyone sound ridiculous!
- Reverse - Plays the video backwards.
- Add sound & music with any of the above effects.
The app with the above features is still free, but there are still some extra in app features that have to be paid for, but these are optional.
- Normal Speed - Plays the movie at normal speed.
- Silent Film - Speeds up the video and puts it into black and white.
- Horror Film - Slows down the video and puts it in black and white with scary music.
If any of you do try this app, then please be sure to post your comments/feedback here, after all we now know the developers is reading this blog and listening to us.

Hi folks, I am incredibly grateful to Glyn for posting this update to my app. Unfortunately, it's not 100% accurate with the state of the app in the App Store, but let me explain.
The #1 complaint I was getting in regards to the app was that it was annoying to have to pay per-effect. Users rightfully do not want to feel like they have to pay multiple times just to get the full app.
Initially, I made the change in the post mentioned of turning on a few extra effects and having users pay for additional ones, one at a time. I e-mailed this update to Glyn, but again, this caused continued negative feedback from folks who simply wanted to pay *once*. (Yes, it took me a few times to 'get it' :))
So, the app as it is right now on the App Store is exactly a Lite vs Pro model. For free, it lets you add some basic sounds and musics to your app, using the UI you can see in the YouTube video. I think folks will like this and it definitely is a great app in-and-of-itself. Think of this as the Free "lite" version.
Then, there is a single in-app purchase to upgrade the entire thing to Pro. The upgrade adds 100+ sounds, dozens of music tracks, and all 5 effects. No more multiple payments, etc. As I add more stuff to the app it will always get rolled into Pro. I think this keeps it simple and addresses the #1 concern of users.
I apologize that the above post is a bit off from the reality. However, I think Videomatic is worth a second look now that I have tweaked things based upon feedback from this community. Thank you for this feedback, as I will continue to learn from you all for what you are looking for! :)
