The iPhoneography Showcase of John Burridge

Glyn Evans My name is John Burridge, and I've been shooting for maybe six years, now. I'm a recent convert to iPhone photography, and in this time have become hopelessly devoted, much to the chagrin of my various SLRs. Like many, I find the middling quality of default iPhone pics to be somehow liberating. I treat each flat, poorly exposed image that comes out of the camera like someone back in the film days treated a negative in the darkroom: a starting point from which I develop my true image. Yes, this means I often enjoy processing the hell out of my pics, but the whole process itself is a way of engaging with my work on a whole other level. Where it can be daunting to tamper too much with an image from a high end dSLR, the crummy default quality from an iPhone is like a gateway drug into the world of lo-fi beauty, where imperfection is celebrated.
I have tried several, though not all photo apps available and am always looking for more. Favourite apps include PhotoFx, CameraKit, and CameraBag.
My (hopefully) growing collection of iPhone pictures can be found on my flickr site here. My main site: www.john-burridge.com, does not yet host any of my iPhoneography, but that will likely change.
