Description from the AppStore: Taking a photo of yourself can be difficult without being able to see where the camera is pointed. Face Detection makes sure you are in the photo by waiting until your face is in the picture before snapping the photo! Face Detection can detect up to 4 separate faces, ensuring you and your friends get a great shot every time!
EASY TO USE
- Press the start button and point the camera back at yourself. Face Detection will watch for your face. Once your face is detected the iPhone will vibrate, alerting you that it is about to take the photo. It is that easy!
- Once the photo is taken you are presented with a preview. You can save the photo to your iPhone photo gallery or even upload it directly to your facebook page!
MULTI PERSON FACE DETECTION
- Face Detection can detect up to four faces to make sure you get everyone in the photo. Select the number of people you want in the photo and Face Detection will wait to take the photo until everyone is in the frame.
PHOTO STABILIZATION
- The stabilizer sensitivity option helps you take sharp photos by waiting until your hand is steady before taking the photo.
FRONTAL AND PROFILE DETECTION
- Faces can be detected in two modes, frontal and profile.
FACEBOOK CONNECT
- Send photos directly to your Facebook page with the click of a button!

Editors comments: Yet another face detection app!! It looks like this is going to be the next type of photo app to flood the AppStore. They all seem to do the job well, so it looks like it will be price and look of the apps interface (UI) that will win the day., and I have to say, this one does look nice.
I decided to give this app ago having played with the others in this group plus a yet to be released face detection app, and to be honest this is the worst of the current crop. Yes it may look nice and its interface (UI) is simple and straight forward to use, but it's when you come to use the app that you discover it major flaw - it does not talk to you, so you have no idea if you need to move your iPhone up, down, left or right, leaving you moving your iPhone around in the hope that it will find your face, which is indicated by a vibration, and then snap your mug.
Based on my test, I would recommend looking at one of the alternatives.

I've used two of these apps so far and I actually like this one (Face Detection Camera) better. The other one with voice commands doesn't seem to be any more accurate.. Plus how could it give accurate directions if your face isn't in the photo in the first place...
