SCW interviewed by iPhone Savior about the AppStore Ratings Scam

If you have been following the unfolding story (that first broke here on the iPhoneography blog) about app developer Molinker and their scam that has lead to them being suspended and their 1000+ apps being removed from the AppStore, then you may be interested in the interview that Patrick Timney (a.k.a. SCW) who unearthed this scam gave to iPhone Savior.

Breaking the Molinker story moves the App Store a huge leap forward. We all know that this shady developer is only the tip of the iceberg. All we can do is our part to bring positive change. Much respect man.

I realize that you're the guy behind the guy. It was important to me to tell Patrick's back story, especially because his aim was true.

For your part in exposing the cheating... well done sir. Well done.

We develop iPhone apps in the UK. Well done for exposing this cheat!! the way in which apps are currently reviewed is wide open to abuse and does not work. Apple must take a look at the whole review process ASAP.

@iPhone Savior. Thanks for the comments, and I was only too pleased to help Patrick get the details of this scam yo those at the top of Apple, and was pleased with the response and ultimately the outcome.

I hadn't appreciated the number of apps involved until this story went global, but I'm pleased we have made a small difference, and I am sure when Pat spots another scamming developer, he will expose them as well.

Also I have just noticed that all the Molinker websites are now gone, so this would indicate that Molinker are gone for good.

Bravo on this and bravo to Apple for pulling the apps. Knock-off apps have no place in the App Store. Let them go elsewhere. Only hope that the jailbreak sites keep them off as well.
