Over at Mac Rumors, some images of the shell of what could be the next generation iPhone have appeared. These images come from the same source as the photos of the iPhone 3G when that was being rumored, so there is a good chance it could be the real thing, but what do you all think?
Go check out the post over at Mac Rumors and come back and share your thoughts with us.

UPDATE:
Reader Mike Fendt pinged me on facebook and said, "The rumor I heard/read from some good sources is the next iphone will have a removable back plate for a battery change, 3.5mp camera as a 5mp would make the phone too bulky and a 64gb memory with a games platform so games would have better graphics and a smother game play."
If true then an increased megapixel camera and enhanced graphics support will be good news for all us iPhoneographers.

Honestly I don't know if I believe that Apple would do this. The reason being that it would open them up to 'having' to do so in their iPod Touch and possibly all other models. Weak reason as it may be, it's something I don't think they'd do...whether or not they say it...there's more money to be made in forcing you to upgrade rather than buying a replacement battery.
What I'd more like to see is the new type of battery technology that the new MacBooks have with 1000+ recharges. By the time that battery dies, you'd want to upgrade your phone any how. It's also better for the environment to have less e-waste lying about with one solid battery for the life of the device than 4 or 5 of the short life span ones.
Ideally it'd be nice to have a compromise of both. A long lasting battery you can swap out and use in your new upgraded phone.
Only reason I would upgrade (I still have a 2nd Gen phone) would be for a substantial Hard Drive improvement. I can barely fit a quarter of my music library, plus all the videos and movies. If I'm going to pay $240 more a year for phone coverage (on AT&T) I want more than just a fast network and a GPS chip. I barely use the phone bits as is.
I'm rambling....anyway...those are my thoughts on the current rumor.
Why does increased megapixels mean good news for all of us?
Well how many of us are truly satisfied with 2 megapixels?
