Just released to the AppStore is ColorSplash, that lets you quickly and easily give your photos that colorize look by converting them to black and white while keeping some details in color.
Use your finger as a brush to remove or bring back the original color from regions of your image.
Quickly zoom in and out using the two finger pinching gesture.
Features:
- Unlimited undo.
- Save multiple sessions.
- In program help.
- Alternative view mode shows colored regions tinted red to make it easier to see and adjust the boundaries between color and black&white regions.
- Choose from 4 different brushes.
- Work in landscape or portrait orientation.
After just playing with ColorSplash for 10 mins I produced 2 good looking colorized photo's of which one of them is shown below. The other photo will form part of a review of this app that I will hopefully write in the next day or two, but on first impressions this looks a really good app.
App: ColorSplash
Price: £1.19 ($1.99)

It sure is awesome !!! To me it is nicer than Colorator. The controls are more hands on & manual so you can do more & have more control of your results. As well the Zoom feature is great since it allows you to get every spot & unlimited undo is also great.
I agree 100%, also the effect that ColorSplash produces is far better than Colorator ever could. When I get my review completed and posted, those that have not tried either of these apps will see just superior ColorSplash is.
Very true... I only wish to see a set of smaller brushes added too.
I agree either making the current brushes smaller, or adding extra sized brushes would help.
well just for you me & everyone else... in the iPhone settings/apps Color Splash has an adjustable setting for the brush size... So we are already blessed with the added options built in. PERFECT !!!
well spotted. I found setting the brush size to its smallest setting, and turning on "show while drawing" helped on edges. Also (and this is not a plug) using a Pogo Stylus really helped.
Ohh very nice!
Cheers
