New iPhone Photo Apps
Monday, February 9, 2009 at 6:56PM |
Glyn Evans Starting from today I am simplifying the new apps listing, by dropping the app icon and providing just a summary of the app. Apps that I think warrant a fuller spread will be posted independently of the New iPhone Photo Apps listing.
I have changed the format so that I can get back on track with the blogs articles, but please let me know if you prefer this format of listing the new apps, or if you preferred the old style.
Vihgo - Price FREE
Vihgo is a free and easy-to-use iPhone application. It can improve photo quality and make special effect. You can add rain, snow, or fog to images; Make canvas paintings, old photo, or halftone from pictures; Or turn image by different angle and color with the real 3D page curl effect.
PhotoCanvas - Price £1.19 ($1.99)
For active iPhone camera users . . . Do you share your photos with friends by email, blogs or through Facebook and MySpace? If so, PhotoCanvas is the perfect app for you!
Full-Res - Price £0.59 ($.99)
Full-Res will make your iPhone photos look clearer when viewed on the phone!
The iPhone takes 2.0 megapixel images that are 1200X1600 pixels in size. Unfortunately the default viewer does not display the images at their full resolution. This leaves a grainy appearance when zoomed in. Full-Res uses a tile based rendering system to efficiently display high resolution images. You are free to zoom in closer, and see finer details.
Flickit - Price FREE

Just open up the app and let your child explore the super-simple kid-friendly controls. There are no confusing menu items or buttons. Touch the camera button to take a picture and then use the photo. Next, start drawing on the pictures with the bright and lively colors provided. If you make a mistake, just shake the phone to clear your drawing. And when you want to save your picture, just touch the Giraffe and your drawing/picture will be saved to the Photo Library.
DeloriCam - Price FREE

DeloriCam captures 10 frames into the past and 10 frames into the future from the point you press the shutter.

±1 second margin.

Cheers Vihgo finally available. As well just a suggestion maybe add the icons again but at 1/2 the size they were before. It added a nice touch but play with the sizing so you can see it etc but so that it doesn't take up all the room.
thx

Thanks for the quick feedback. What do you think of the app icon sizes?
This entry came just in time as I'm searching for good iPhone to Flickr apps. Just downloaded Flickit on your recommendation and works a treat. Cheers.
Glyn,
looks good... you could even go smaller if you wish.
Perfect... You can see the app & it doesn't take away from the page at all. Yet still advertises that app visually to the readers. Well done!
thescw, thanks for the feedback.
Sam, this is a great little app, and I have just written up a mini review, which will go live tomorrow morning at 7am GMT.
Well, you put Deloricam in your list : it is indeed a very useful and original application (perfect for sport, animals, or lightning shooting).
The only problem is that Deloricam has disappeared from Appstore since OS 3.0... and that Deloricam app doesnot work on OSes > 2.2.1.
To be complete : I made an extensive review of photo apps on the store : you can of course find there the best and the worse, the unavoidable and the perfectly unuseful, but not even *ONE* offers the function that Deloricam brought to iPhone.
It is strange as many digital camera now have such a mode...
