The iPhoneography interview with Ugur Kaner, another great iPhoneographer
Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 12:00PM In a continuation of this popular series, I am please to be able to introduce a new up and coming iPhoneographer, Ugur Kaner.
Q - Where in the world are you based?
A - Helsinki, FinlandQ - When and why did you create the "Apple iPhone Photography - Street photography by Ugur Kaner" website?
A - I created it almost a month ago. Pictures I took with my iPhone and CameraBag got me so excited that I wanted to share them with the world.Q - Is photography a hobby, or does it form part of your day job?
A - HobbyQ - Why did you chose to use the iPhone as your main photo taking tool?
A - I am very busy with business. Therefore I can not find much time to hit streets with my good old Canon. iPhone is a great device that I have in my pocket all the time, and I can catch a good moment as I see. And people usually do not recognize it as a camera, therefore I can get really natural results.Q - How would you describe your style of photography?
A - I love to catch life, moments and natural facial expressions. I mostly shoot black & white, high contrast and defective shots.Q - Who if anyone inspires your photography?
A - Chris Weeks triggered my street photography passion.Q - How many photo's do you think you have taken to-date with your iPhone?
A - Almost 500 in 1 monthQ - What iphoneography apps do you use on your iPhone if any?
A - CameraBag only. I use Helga and 1962 filters mostly.Q - Do you post process any of your photos on your iPhone, and if so what apps do you use?
A - No. CameraBag automatically applies effects. I never touch them afterwards.Q - If you do not edit on your iPhone, what do you use to edit with, if anything?
A - Nothing at all.Q - Do you upload images to your website directly from your iPhone? if so with what app? or do you ftp them?
A - No. I get photos from iPhone to iPhoto, from there to Flickr. My gallery is updated automatically over Flickr.
Q - What improvements would you like to see Apple making to the camera features of the iPhone?
A - I would appreciate a dedicated shutter key and little more megapixels for prints.
If there are any iPhoneographers out there that would like to show their art here, then please contact me.
