App updates, what's the story?

What is up with the AppStore updates? Over the past week I have been getting rouge updates (old versions) listed when I have been checking my apps for updates, so today when it hapened I took the following screen shots (see below).
As you will see, first off I was presented with quite a few updates, which I ignored, then when I checked again there was only 1 app, but again I knew this was also an old version, so when I checked for a 3rd time there were no updates.

Is anyone else seeing this strange behaviour? and is Apple about to break the AppStore again?

Its been happening on my phone quite a bit lately. The little badge shows up under updates in the appstore - shows old updates - and when you touch them it says it's already installed. Annoying

Same happened to me at one stage I had 10 updates but as I went through them to see what they were they already said instaled???? I thought my phone was broken at one stage as I pushed the update all button and all the icons reloaded, just a bug on the system?

I'm also having the same problem. Ever since my iTunes library hit around 1,000 apps total, it doesn't show any updates for my apps anymore. It's also the same thing for my iPhone, so I never know when I have any app updates! Sometimes it will show my app updates but like you've guys already said, it's old app updates that are already installed.

It's nice to know that I'm not alone, but this shouldn't be happening in the first place, so come on Apple get it sorted :)
