iPhone App Review: Photo Beam

Glyn Evans I posted about Photo Beam last week, and whilst this is not the only app that allows you to transfer photos between one iPhone and another, I had a need for such an app so decided to give it a try.
The app in use
Having installed the app and launched it you are presented with a home screen with just 2 options, Send Photos or Receive Photos. On the iPhone (or iPod Touch) you are sending the photo (or up to 5 photos) from just tap Send Photos and you are presented with a screen that allows you to "Select a Photo". Tap this and you are taken to the iPhone's photo album where you can select your photo/photos to send to the other iPhone.
On the receiving iPhone again launch the app, but this time select Receive Photos and you will see the broadcasting iPhone listed with an option to "Slide 'ON' to connect".
Slide to "ON" and the connection between the 2 iPhones will be established and you will see the number of photos pending.
Now back to the sending iPhone and you will see the recipients iPhone listed. Simply tap "Send" and your photo/photos will begin transferring and a progress bar will appear on both iPhones to show the transfer progress.
Once the photo/photos have been sent you will see the number of photo/photos sent listed, and on the recipients iPhone will be the received photo/photos, which automatically save to the recipients photo album, and that's it there is nothing else to do, the app could not be simpler.
What did I think of the app?
This is a great free app that comes recommended, and in actual fact for me, one I would have been happy to have payed £0.59 ($.99) for. The app could not be any simpler to use, and all you need is for all the iPhone's or iPod Touch's to have the app installed and be on the same private or public WiFi network. Even if the other devices do not have the app installed it is only a quick download from the AppStore and your ready to share.
I know you could email your photos around, but what if your friend or family member does not have email set up on their iPhone or iPod Touch, well this could well save the day.
