New iPhone Photo App: Mobile Photobooth

Love those old-timey photobooths? Now you can have one whenever you want!

Mobile Photobooth puts the fun right in the palm of your hand. Use your iPhone camera to take four great pix and create a classic photostrip right from your Photo Library! Or choose from existing photos! Save in black & white or color - or both.

I bought the app, but what do I think of it?

When I saw this app listed in the AppStore, I thought great another unique iPhone photo app that would add yet another dimension to my iPhone photos, and without giving it any thought went ahead and bought it. How disappointed I was when I realised this app did not allow me to take photos directly with the app, but instead relied on photos already in the camera roll. I know, I know, I should have read the blurb before paying my money, and should not have assumed that an app called Mobile Photobooth would allow you to take photos directly.

Anyway although this app is disappointing, it would only need the developer to add the ability to take photos with the app to make Mobile Photobooth a real Photobooth type app, and worth buying.

Ahh ....
Ok well see I hate apps that ONLY allow you to use the camera & not your own photos for I want to edit & frame my own photos. So personally this at first doesn't disappoint me but I agree how that is just plain odd to not include both. I actually only want this app to use with my already existing photos so for me at the moment it will be perfect.

Word to the developer: They really need to add both options & also should have had Glyn & myself who are both iPhone photography beta testers to be beta testing this & every other app for we know what to look for & what does & doesn't work well in an app worthy of sales in the app store.

Totally agree with you Glyn, if it replicated the photo booth experience and took four photos after each other I'd buy it. I love the look and feel of the splash screen posted above, they got that right on the button, the app icon could do with a little more of the same retro charm though.

If Apple hadn't rejected the app for undocumented APIs, It would have had the timer camera - check out version 1.2 in a few days. Now you can take pictures right inside the app and even retake the duds!
