Discussion: iPhone 3.0 upgrade experiences

If you have been brave or foolish enough (you decide) to upgrade your iPhone 3G to OS 3.0, then please post your experiences below, which photo apps still work, and more importantly which apps don't.

I went ahead and updated my first gen iPhone since I have a new phone coming Friday. So far everything seems OK. I did notice it took one icon on my home screen and placed it all by itself on another page. I just dragged it back and things went back to normal. Also played with Photo fx and don't see any problems.

Thanks for the feedback. Do you use any other photo apps besides Photo fx? and do they work ok?

Pano doesn't seem to work. Can't take a picture and phone goes back to homescreen.

There's some good news for you, Pano 3.1 should appear in the AppStore any time soon.

QuadCamera doesn't work which was already indicated by the programmer. He is waiting for approval for a compatible version for over a month now. iLeica (Lite) doesn't work either.

Camerabag does work op 3.0, as does Polarize, Mobile Fotos, Flickit and Airme.

I did a quick check for the following applications.
Working as far as I can see with the new OS 3.0 are:
- Photobuddy
- Panolab
- CameraBag
- Photo fx
- Polarize
- ColorSplash
- MagicTouch
- Re:NancyKPH
- Polarock
- JitterPic
- Cropulator
- OldBooth+
- MapCard

The ones that are not working:
- QuadCamera
- Pano
- Facebook (stuck when using the camera)

It looks like these last apps where not updated recently or do not have a standard iphone camera interface for taking picutures and therefore are likely to have problems with the new OS.

I have a first gen phone which I will try to update though itunes is a little snarky right now. So I will wait till later and maybe things will clear up. I am getting the new phone on Friday and I am hoping that I will be able to transfer all of the applications that I have on my first gen phone onto the new one. That should work, shouldn't it?

Well, that sucks! Just opened iTunes and it seems that their terms and conditions have changed. "The App Store terms now include provisions for In App purchases, some of which can only be downloaded once and which cannot be transferred between devices. The Application Provider is solely responsible for In App Purchases. " Well that probably just answered my question. damn!

Haven't found any photo apps that don't work. imviewer, zipix lite, snapfilters, photo fx all work ok so far.
