The iPhoneography Showcase of John Wu

Glyn Evans Film sets are inherently strange and divided worlds. Onlookers outside see glamor, stars, and onscreen magic being made. Meanwhile to crew members, it's a battleground with a camera, massive lights, barking AD's, and a race against the clock and the light. The magic is really making all this craziness work out in the real world.
Having crewed on Hollywood, Chinese, and French productions in New York City, Taipei, and Shanghai, I can say that while the work and methods remain generally the same, the best part of the job is showing up at a different location and seeing new breathtaking sights each day. Yes, many of us carry cameras and in moments when we're not being hounded with the latest crisis of moving an actor's trailer five feet closer to the wardrobe truck, we take pictures. Of course since lugging an SLR around while putting out fires is out of the question, most of these photos come from point & shoots and cell phone cameras. In my case, I use a Day 1 purchased 1st-gen iPhone.
I suppose I could just shoot a bunch of star spy shots, but instead I do stuff like this:
Above: "playing god in grand central" (iPhone unprocessed)
Above: "director's chair" (iPhone unprocessed)
Above: "last days at 地熱谷" (Vint Green)
Above: "ghost dreams" (Camerabag)
Above: "we own the night" (Camerabag + Tiffen Photo fx)If you would like to showcase your iPhone photos here on the iPhoneography blog, then send me an email and I'll reply with details on how to submit.

Awesome! Ghost dreams is a killer shot... They are all great!
Thanks for posting Glyn, and taking up my suggestion for the links.
Nice stuff! I've always been a fan of the visuals in your movies, and I'm glad to see the same great eye turned to the iPhone.
@dave: you'll be sorely disappointed if you're expecting another better tomorrow from me.
@John I've seen most of your films since seeing The Killer back in 1990 or so. You never disappoint me. :)
@John ...... wow great captures! "last days..." is an amazing photo. Vint green is hit & miss at times but then you get a gem! Lovely shot.
May I suggest you try "Mill Colour" app it is FREE & you might like playing with "ShakeItPhoto".
