New iPhone Photo App: PhotoBox

PhotoBox is the all in one solution for the weekend warrior photographer, giving you a large range of photo filters and effects. A picture is worth a thousand words, so make each one count!

  • Auto Photo Correction - Gives nice clean and clear look to your photos.
  • Polarize - Funky and retro. This is the same effect found in the already very popular Polarize app.
  • Cinema - A dramatic, bold, and forward presentation.
  • Nostalgia - Tinted and nostalgic.
  • Fantasy - A romantic and subtle black and white, while leaving hints of color and tone.
  • Hong Kong 1976 - Inspired by the Chinese a cultural revolution.
  • Telegraph - A modern take to sepia, soft yet urban.
  • Red Flare - A bold black and white, highlighting the red tones within the photo.
  • Noir - A dramatic and sexy black and white, inspired from the film noir cinema.
  • Tweed - Urban, chaotic and dramatic.
  • Summer '69 - Vibrant, lively and colorful.

Yucky interface for selecting and applying filters. Had high hopes because I like Polarize, but this one needs a redesign on the UI.

@JS, I agree the UI is not pretty.

@ Paul Miller, I would say it's more like Mill Colour.

Fortunately & Unfortunately I have tested EffectsLab & Photobox.... The results are not what I had hoped.
I tested them when first released & now again after the updates & same results & conclusions. These two apps honestly have made every photo I tested it on look worse than before any edit. Testing on unedited pics the results were truly horrible. Yet testing on already edited photos from other apps & then applying EffectsLab or PhotoBox on top of... The results were considerably better but still not good at all. Being better than worse still isn't good. I truly hate to bash an app/apps considering the developer made one of my fave apps... "Polaroid Project aka Polarize" iPhone app. But these do not compare in quality results in the least. I highly, highly, highly recommend Chris redo the apps & tweak them to perfection as well add beta testers like Glyn, myself & others before another update.
The apps have great ideas, concepts & overall styles of effects it is just the saved results are very unimpressive.

I looked forward to these apps blowing me away with amazing results & so when the opposite happened I was not expecting it to such a degree.

As of v.1.1 I do not recommend EffectsLab or PhotoBox
