The iPhoneography Showcase of Ed Spadoni

Having been an avid photo enthusiast for many years, I've taken my share of photos with a variety of equipment. Photography for me represents a never-ending opportunity to be creative, experiment and learn. But like most hobbyists, my enthusiasm has on occasion cooled off while I searched for a new, more challenging technique or subject or piece of gear. I was in such a funk when in June of this year, photography took a new turn for me. I purchased my first iPhone; a 3G, 16 Gig, running OS3.

I love the challenge of the iPhone camera's limitations, whether I try to overcome them or exploit them, the outcome is usually satisfying. It's put to use daily, and it has replaced my point and shoot as my "always with me" camera. Compared to my Nikon dSLR, the iPhone isn't even in the same camp - but because it's so limited, it forces me to think and see more creatively, which every photographer needs to do and do well.

Most of these images were edited with Photogene and a combination of iFlashready, Photobox or Free Photo Filters (my favorite being lomography) and sometimes Noiseblaster.

I called the above photo "Three for breakfast"I called the above photo "Powderpoint Bridge"I called the above photo "Urban descent"I called the above photo "In the garden"I called the above photo "St. Tim's"If you want to check out more of Ed's work, then check out his SmugMug site.

If you would like to showcase your iPhone photos here on the iPhoneography blog, then send me an email and I'll reply with details on how to submit.

Really enjoyed your stuff Ed. The pics that you have on SmugMug are great. One of my favorites is the one titled ' Boston viewed from Memorial Dr'.
