Thanks for the heads-up. This app is great, and these additions should be a welcome bonus.

It seems like the two Tiffen apps (Photo fx and Cool fx) are the unsung heroes of the iPhone photo processing world - everyone talks about CameraBag, but I never hear much about Photo fx. Out of the dozens of photo apps I've bought/downloaded/tried, they are the two I find myself using over and over. They are easily the best-designed and highest-quality processing apps out there. Yes, the sheer number of possibilities and presets can be a little overwhelming - and factor in the ability to layer multiple effects and the numbers get even more intimidating - but the quality level is extremely high. It takes a fair amount of experimentation and time with the app, but it's always exciting to how you can make an image unique. The new features add a bunch of presents and some new effects (including an interesting tilt-shift-like interface), and the two extra-cost effects bundles are probably a sign of what's to come in Cool fx, too. AND they both have supported the full resolution of the iPhone 3GS camera since the day it came out! Both great photo apps, highly recommended. No I don't work for Tiffen!

I love this application also. And after I got the update I tried it out to see what was new and there was thew 2 new filter options which I quickly found out you had to pay .99 cents each to unlock it. But I did not mind at all because this is one of those quality applications that makes it a no brainer. Great job Tiffen. Keep it up.

I was pretty disappointed with this update - we are now treated to a full page advertisement on opening the app. Functionality is now restricted and we are asked to buy further filters to 'unlock' sections. This is ridiculous for a pay-for product - I really hope that this does not start a trend...

@champagne01. I have to agree with you, I am also disappointed with this new approach.

I'm still not sure where I stand with the in-app additional purchases. I could see how it could be a good thing because expensive apps can be offered at a lower price and you only have to buy what you need. However, I don't like to paying additional fees for more access when it comes to cell phone contracts. Hidden fees are never fun.

I really think the advertisement is blatant and shouldn't be in this $5 app. Maybe if it was free, I could understand advertising (whether it is internal or outside advertising) if the app was free.

Tiffen added onto this app and made it better, so it the "Pay for more" doesn't bother me. I wish that CoolFX wasn't a separate app and would have paid to have those add-ons with the PhotoFX app.

What can't be denied is that both Apps have great filters and are very powerful. I recommend both. They do take more time to edit photos because there are so many options available to try.

I did just notice on their app info page that they've already submitted an update that removes the ad and fixed a few presets that were accidentally removed - in direct response to some negative comments. That was quick!

But it saddens me when people complain about paying .99 for a bunch of extra filters, forgetting that Tiffen already added several new filters for free as well. Do people really expect Tiffen to just keep adding and adding new filters for free forever? I'd rather have this, with a clean unified interface, than have a bunch of separate apps.
