The iPhoneography Showcase of Graham McArthur

Glyn Evans Although I have been a freelance artist and illustrator all my working life, photography held very little interest for me. That is until I got an iPhone 3G and my daughter 'borrowed' my point and shoot pocket digital leaving me with no other option. I am heavily into cycling and spend many hours on the roads through the Adelaide hills and at bike races. The iPhone is always with me and it is natural to use it for the odd photograph. Then I discovered the 'apps'. I am now a convert and hooked on iPhone photography. I love the iPhone camera's limitations and often see them as unique qualities for creative exploration. With the ability to crop, enhance and apply filters within the iPhone, photography has become a fun and exciting creative way to record my travels by bike and everyday life.
My art work is often about the abstract, light and contrast and the qualities of the iPhone camera seems to fit my way of seeing very well. Because it has limitations, it forces me to think and be more creative with the apps.
Most of these images were edited with a combination of Photogene, CamerBag, CameraKit, Scissors, Darkroom and Free Photo Filters.

If you would like to showcase your iPhone photos here on the iPhoneography blog, then send me an email and I'll reply with details on how to submit.
