Invisible iPhone photos

iLounge are reporting on "a new bug found in iPhone OS 3.0 has led some users to take pictures that were rendered invisible on the device."

According to Apple's support forum the bug only seems to affect "photos with the name IMG_10000 or higher, as the built-in Photos application refuses to acknoledge their presence or show them in the Camera Roll. Users are reporting, however, that the pictures are indeed still on the device, and can still be imported to iPhoto on the Mac or the selected program on Windows."

iLounge are also saying "This bug appears to be independent of another OS 3.0 photo-related problem, in which pictures are taken by the device and then reported as missing by iPhoto during the import process."

Thankfully I do not seem to be suffering from either of these problems, although I've yet to hit the 10,000 mark.

Well have, am & did suffer from this ridiculous bug on my 3G !!!

From IMG_9999 until IMG_11526 all my current photos were invisible within my iPhones camera roll.

I must say it is the most annoying thing especially as a beta tester of photography apps & as a photo editor / iPhoneographer it is beyond frustrating. Everyday was another day I had to fight off the urge to smash my iPhone.

Upon taking photo IMG_11527 it reverted back to IMG_001 & so on.

So if you are someone dealing with this annoying beyond belief bug within the iPhone limiting access to your iPhone... I highly suggest taking another 1525 photos to resolve this issue.

ATTENTION Apple Inc:
1. Fix this ridiculous bug / internal limitation you have built into your own phone of the future... Not so smart iPhone !!!
2. Fix this bug in your next update ASAP. Do not limit your users to suffer ridiculous limitations of their own photos. 3. Allow users to RESET the IMG count on their iPhone when they so please. Thus fixing such errors in the future. 4. When a photo is removed & or deleted from your iPhone DO NOT allow it to secretively still be stored on the device even after deletion or restore. This is a huge glitch & a major privacy issue !!!

Cheers SCW
