New iPhone Photo App: Photo Paint
Friday, September 11, 2009 at 10:00AM |
Glyn Evans Description from the AppStore:
Photo Paint is nothing less than a revolution in digital oil painting generation, and it's coming first to the iPhone, at an unbeatable introductory price.- Unique algorithms sharing roots with successful and groundbreaking app "Photo Sketch" analyze each photo in depth, and rebuilds it as a painting from the ground up, brush stroke by brush stroke.
- Not only are the oil strokes so real you can see the marks from the brush hairs and almost smell the paint, but whatever settings you use, true artistic expression is employed.
- A handful of simple but very powerful controls make you the artist in charge.
- Results are beautifully rendered in a variety of sizes up to 1536 by 1536 pixels, to enable amazing quality printouts.
- You can use low resolution input to generate high resolution output!
- The tiny screenshots are only part of the story. To check out full resolution example paintings, visit http://studiomee.com/photopaint

Editors comments: An interesting looking app, but a over priced for me.

Way overpriced for something that you can do with half-a-dozen other "art apps." Pass.
