My favourite Black and White app Spica - Super Monochrome has just been updated with the following new features:

  • The interface has been improved greatly.
  • Added a setting option to save an original photo when taking a picture. (From the Save Original option of a settings screen.)
  • Added a setting option to display a result photo when taking a picture. (From the Display Result option of a settings screen.)
  • Became being able to preview a photo of a camera roll in an app.
  • Added a screen to confirm saving a result image when applying effect to a photo in a camera roll.
  • Added to settings screen a link of flickr iPhone Spica group.

I'm interested in Spica but can you confirm...does Spica allow BW conversion of photos already in your camera roll, or is it by camera only?

thanks sir,

Hi nelsonh, after my review the developer added the ability to apply this effect to existing photos. If you like B&W, then I highly recommend this app.

I second that. I got it on Glyn's recommendation and I really, really enjoy it. The updates have made a good app great.

This is a great app. I use the darn thing every day. Love the effects that I get.

I got really excited about the update allowing picture import from camera roll because I thought this would allow photo editing on an iTouch.

It doesn't. Is there a good reason for this or can I still hope?
