New iPhone Photo App: MonoPhix Lite

Transform your iPhone/iPod Touch pictures in high depth Monochrome at full resolution with MonoPhix!

Description from the AppStore: Monochrome pictures can be amazingly beautiful, but only if you have the right tool available.

The tool you are looking for has an amazing black & white filter, has an easy eye-catching single touch interface and doesn't pillage you in the pocket. It's called MonoPhix.

With MonoPhix you can create Monochrome images from your pictures with one touch. Even advanced image editing apps on your mac/pc require multiple filters and adjustments to create these high depth and high quality monochrome images.

Other than other iPhone apps, MonoPhix uses a special technique to create depth without losing quality, hence creating the most beautiful Black & White effects possible on any platform.

Monochrome photography is an art and you could be the artist today.

FEATURES:

  • High Resolution support (+1.600x+1.200 pixels, Open & Save)
  • Black & White Monochrome Filter
  • Ability to set contrast
  • Previews to see changes before applying them
  • Easy to use
  • Eye-catching interface with dock

Editors comments: I completely forgot to post news on this app, but better late than never.

This FREE lite version of MonoPhix is a simple Black & White app that can produce some very nice results, and if you have no quick fix B&W app on your iPhone, then I recommend you get this one, as my video overview below will show, it is very easy to use.

Simply launch the app, select then middle icon from the home screen to load a photo, then hit Mono, and from the preview screen adjust the intensity by sliding the slider up or down then scale.  When done hit Apply to go back to the main viewing window and then you can either hit Return to undo or Save to save the photo to the camera roll; it's that simple.

The only real niggle I have with this app, is the thumbnail in the editing view is too small, but for me this is only a minor niggle.

i discovered this app as it was published on appstore...I can get from that a better B&W effect than the one offered from other apps, and, with a couple other application,, it became one of the most used on my IPhone.
I think that this application is a must have!

Thanks for the review Glyn. I will continue the development of MonoPhix 3 in a while and since the Lite version is always built from the latest pro version, MonoPhix Lite 3 will also feature the full screen preview, the new interface and speed improvements MonoPhix 3 brings.

So the preview problem should be fixed in a while.
