Until now, tilt-shift videos required very expensive lens for your DSLR or a professional video editing software to edit your video and simulate the effect and, in both cases, a good deal of patience. Not anymore, now you just need this App!
The TiltShift Video app uses the processing power of your iPhone or iPod Touch to easily apply the Tilt-Shift effect to your videos.
Presenting an intuitive, easy to use interface that will guide you from the beginning to the end through all the configuration settings that will define how your video will look like.
Configure the video speed, adjust the blur amount and position, increase the saturation, add titles and configure fades... all of it in a matter of seconds with a just few taps!
Choose one of the application catchy loops as the soundtrack or select the song that you want from your own library!
When you are happy with your adjustments, render your video easily and export it directly to your Camera Roll, choosing from a list of resolution presets, to ensure that you get the quality that your want.

Main Features:
- Transform any video recorded with your device's main camera into an awesome tilt-shift video.
- Adjust the playback velocity of your resulting video.
- Adjust the blur strenght and position to get incredible "miniature" effects.
- Adjust your video saturation to get vivid colors.
- Choose your video's soundtrack from one of the catchy music loops provided with the app or, simply, select one of the songs in your library.
- Choose between different export presets, including HD (720p) [Export resolution is limited by the resolution of the original video].
- Export your Tilt-Shift videos directly to your Camera Roll.
- Instructions for the application and tips about how to shoot videos for getting the best results.
App Store Link: TiltShift Video; Price: £1.19/$1.99/€1.59
Editors comments: Finally TiltShift Video has come to the iPhone. I've not had time to try this app out, nor have I been able to find any sample videos created with it either, so if any of you do take the plunge, then please share your thoughts and sample videos with us.

this one is going to be amazing
What is Tilt Shift?
it is great - tried it...
Very quick video with TiltShift Video. I just videoed the first thing I saw which was my fish tank. I'm impressed by the app and reckon you'll get a great video when using the iPhone 4 and a tripod and also using subjects like people or traffic and from a wider angle.

Looks to be a good entry to the first Tilt Shift video app. Just a few things after playing with it. The visual of selecting the amount of blur doesn't really translate over to the actual video once rendered. This makes it hard to tell if you have enough or too little. I had do my test video three times before I got the blur how I wanted it. Also the blur is not very progressive. It is all on or original video clear. I'd love to see a little more fade between the area of the blur to the clear area. The other thing that bugs me is that it doesn't support multi-tasking. I am only rendering a quick 13 second clip. The time to take is longer than the sleep is on the iPhone. When your iPhone sleeps it kills the rendering.
Other than those two things it is well developed, pretty fast, and great effect. Can't wait to get some worth footage on my phone to start playing with more. Here is my quick example.

Further to Ed's comment above it would be nice to be able to apply a similar TiltShift to the photo app, e.g. an ellipse if that's possible. The parallel lines are useful for some types of shift but not all. Also when taking a secondary video I found I could only use the lines in vertical mode which meant for videos taken in portrait where I wanted a horizontal shift I couldn't (could be me being vacant though)
Good catch MBD. Circular blur and vertical lines would be great additions.
I just emailed the author with the feedback from this thread and a suggestion to keep his/her/their eye on this thread for more feedback as more people buy it. Email sent was:
Hi there,
I downloaded TiltShift Video today and am impressed with this first version. I thought you may like some feedback:
1. When choosing a video taken in Portrait mode on the 3GS, TiltShift Video displays it rotated 90 degrees CCW (holding the iPhone in portrait shows the video on it's correct axis, however then the TS Video app is tilted incorrectly)
2. The only TiltShift option available is two horizontal lines, both adjustable. It would be nice to have a similar style shift as the TiltShift app as an option. Likewise the option to have vertical lines to adjust blur area would be great.
3. When fully rendered, a Portrait video is exported on the same axis as TiltShift Video displays it. This means all Portrait videos are rendered incorrectly.
4. The transition between clear and blurred is too sudden. The art of good TiltShift is a gradual transition from clear to blurred. An option to adjust the distance between 'fully blurred' and 'normal' would be great.
5. No multi-tasking support. When a video takes a long time to render the iPhone will go into sleep mode which stops the rendering. Having the ability to run it in the background while performing other functions (or while the iPhone sleeps) would be great.
I think with a few tweaks this could be a great piece of kit.
Kind regards,
MBD
p.s. Keep an eye on http://www.iphoneography.com/journal/2010/10/11/new-iphone-video-app-tiltshift-video.html#comments for more feedback. :)
its is really great interesting.
I tried it, but didn't get any further then tapping "Create new video!". The App switches to a new screen where you can select the video you would like to edit. I only get the spinning wheel. I guess I have too many video's on my iPhone (> 50). I have waited for more then 15 minutes with no results. Why don't they use the iPhone Photo Album just like all other Apps?
I can't judge the App itself since I didn't get any further yet. Guess I'll have to wait for the update before I can use it. Too bad!
I downloaded & I love it. Of course there are improvements that can be made, but for first attempt it's great. Glad I bout it.
Long time no post. I sort of had some issues with my iPhone when I updated to iOS 4.0 The camera just became less functional for me. Well I upgraded to the iPhone 4 recently. I decided it was worth it because I can use the HD video for Real Estate Video Tours for my company. I purchased a "steady cam" and am getting a wide angle lens. Looking forward to trying this one out to see if it will add anything to my tours A circle blur might be nice but we will see what they do with updates.
Just to update you guys, the app developer replied to my email. A quick reply is always a good sign and the reply itself is also very encouraging!
Ed: I mentioned in reply that the sleeping issue was something you'd encountered so if you have time to let him know the details that may also get fixed in a future update if it's an issue. :)
Hi!
Thanks a lot for your comments; as I'm working to improve the App, I really appreciate them.
About points, #1 and #3 (different orientation video support), will definitively be included in the App at some point: it was an overlook from my side, as I'm alway shooting my videos in the same orientation.
About point #2 (blur definition), I recognize that the current way to define the blur sections is limited, and I'm already working in modifications to allow for vertical lines, and circle / elliptic blur zones. Also I plan to remove the limitation that the current horizontal lines have of not being able to go further than the image middle section.
About point #4 (blur transition), I have received the same feedback from other people. In fact I included some gradual transition (the first attempts were really a hard line between blur and non-blurred), but I recognize that it is not enough. As I'm reworking the way blur works, I will ensure that this gets fixed too and that the "transition zone" is configurable in size.
About point #5. Multi-tasking is what I had in mind from the beginning as I imagined that the videos would take long time to render. Unfortunately, at the moment it is not possible. In iOS 4.1 there are some kind of activities that do not work in the background and the graphic stuff that the application needs to do when rendering the video is one of them. If you look at Apple's iMovie, you will see that it suffers the same problem. Of course, I will be keeping an eye at the changes in the next iOS versions to see if I can include it at some point, but for now, don't expect any progress on this issue :(
However, there is something that concerns me in what you said: in theory, while rendering, the app should prevent the iphone to enter in sleep mode (precisely to avoid the cancelation of the export). Did that happened to you (of course, without using the "power on/ off" button)? If so, would you please provide me with the info about what device model are you using? iOS version must be 4.1, right? I will investigate from my side and see if I can reproduce.
Well, thanks again for your interest in my App and for taking the time to write down all these suggestions. I think that with upcoming updates most of them will be included in the App.
Best regards,
Fidel.
This app is so cool, sure some room for improvements but after the 1st edition I can't complain to much, love it.
Just a follow up on my previous post, about issues with listing my video's. I have contacted the developer with the issue I had. He responded very fast and actually had the solution at hand. It was basically my own mistake because I switched off the Location Services on my iPhone. I had no clue that this would have an effect on displaying my list of video's (he has added this workaround to the App Store description because, as he mentioned, I wasn't the only person with the issue).
After turning ON the location Services (found in "Settings") it worked like a charm. Listing my many video's was almost instantaneous ... good job. The developer actually had a very good reason of not using the standard Photo Album, which I accept. Let the playing begin.
I'd love to try it
oh well. i got the promo codes for Picture Show(:
i'm good! thnx anyway
Doesn´t work!!!! Iphone 4 ios 4.1,
after i click on Create new video there´s just a spinning wheel all the time.
Read the comments T. You need to accept the location notice. Another person had the same issue and that allowed the videos to show.
