To bad it's still over priced.
Pretty sure he's just trying to cash in on his name.
Agreed. Overpriced. Already can do all these filter effects using other photo apps.
I deleted v1.2 a long time ago. A lot of apps passed by in quality and functionality since December. There was no reason for me to keep in on my phone.
Now v1.3, the first update after 10 month. Made a 10 min test and deleted it again. Customizable dock is not needed because of the small amount of filters. The "new" filters are only a 50% versions.
For me this app is NOT the Best Camera. And the developer is delivering NO real updates for the money. I would not buy it again.
What a waste of money this app has been This is the 1st update since dec. 2009 and even then that wasn't an update. Strictly just self promotion for Mr. Jarvis and nothing else. Nothing useful in this app at all. Save your money.
Chase is a talented "photographer", don't get me wrong. But it's clear to see that he's taken the overly self-promoting approach to himself in the "iPhone Photography" world. Chase came out shooting (good stuff), published a book (prematurely) and then creates an overpriced app that is completely covered with his own brand (yawwwwn). Come on Chase...keep it real man. Post your iPhone shots on a public Flickr page with the rest of us ... get back to the roots of iPhone shooting instead of the live-streaming sleeper interviews with Jasmine What's Her Name...

Best Camera was my first photo app. I agree that there are now many "better" (whatever that is) and more exciting photo apps, but I still think Best Camera is pretty nice. Admittedly, I don't use it very often, but I'll keep it on my iPhone. Also, I think CJ deserves credit for promoting the iPhone as a serious photographic tool. There's no doubt that he's both a skilled photographer and a clever marketing guy. Nothing wrong with that.
Thanks for your reviews guys, I almost splashed out on this
I think you're being a bit harsh on the app and on the author. Best camera is yes overpriced and yes took way too long for an update. But still is a very nice app, at least imo. It is simple and easy to use, it delivers at the same time presets and autonomy. I use it quite often.
Regards.
I am fond of this app as it is my first set of virtual filters. The effects are non-remarkable by current standard but I still find its UI one of the most enjoyable.
As for Chase Jarvis, he's obviously a great showman and salesman. And it was an article about his iPhone exploits which kindled my interest in iPhoneography.
