On the 15th November 2008 at 1:21PM GMT the iPhoneography blog and the term iPhoneography was born, and so today, we, and this new form of photographic expression are 2 years old.
Over these past 2 years a lot has happened. iPhoneography has gone from a niche almost underground movement that only a handful of people were involved in, to the mainstream buzz that we have today, with competitions and exhibitions popping up all over the place, and the term iPhoneography is synonymous with iPhone photography.
During this time the iPhone camera has gone from just 2 megapixels to 5 megapixels, and has firmly marked its place in history as the first smart camera that lets you take, edit and share your photos. Gone are the days of spending hours in front of a computer with your favorite photo editor, as the iPhone and its third party photo apps bring easy photo editing to the masses.
There have been some hiccups along the way, with Apple releasing its fair share of bum iPhone OS updates, rendering many of our photo apps useless, and of course there have been the scammers who have tried to fool us in to buying their apps, but thanks to our contacts and eagle eyed readers, these have been exposed and in some cases, kicked out of the App Store.
So what does the future hold for iPhoneography?
The future for iPhoneography is bright, with more powerful photo apps on the horizon, more exhibitions and competitions in the planning, and more books and dedicated websites to come, now could not be better for this new form of photographic expression.
And finally...
I'd just like to say a big THANK YOU to all of you who have made this blog a success, from the first month back in November 2008 where I had just 126 visitors to current month with over 60,000 visitors projected, and to those of you who have spurred me on and helped me mould the blog what it is today.

I'm a little late posting this announcement. I thought the 15th was tomorrow, too much Champaign I guess ;)

Glyn, thank you for being an unabashed supporter of iphoneography and iphoneographers. I read this blog daily and have been inspired by the photographers and their stories. I am very appreciative of your honest app reviews and your twitter updates. You have saved me and other app addicts a lot of money by alerting your readers to the low res and crappy apps.
Happy 2nd birthday and long live iphoneography!
