Hardware: Print photos from your iPhone with the Bolle BP-10

Looking for a standalone 6x4 photo printer for your iPhone?  Then check out the Bolle BP-10, as it may be just what you've been looking for.

The Bolle BP-10 is a dye-sublimation printer that prints 6x4 (A6) photo quality prints, with an option for multiple images in one picture.  The BP-10 can also print multiple photos, is compact in size, and doubles as a charge station when your iPhone is docked, and is currently available in the UK from MobileFun.co.uk, and is priced at £119.99.

Please note: You will need the free Bolle Photo app [App Store Link], which is iOS 4 ONLY, to print to this printer.

What is a dye-sublimation printer?

"A dye-sublimation printer (or dye-sub printer) is a printer which employs a printing process that uses heat to transfer dye onto a medium such as a plastic card, paper, or fabric. The sublimation name is applied because the dye transitions between the solid and gas states without going through a liquid stage. Many consumer and professional dye-sublimation printers are designed and used for producing photographic prints.

Most dye-sublimation printers use CMYO (cyan, magenta, yellow and overcoating) colors, which differs from the more recognized CMYK colors in that the black dye is eliminated in favour of a clear overcoating. This overcoating (which has numerous names depending on the manufacturer) is also stored on the ribbon and is effectively a thin laminate which protects the print from discoloration from UV light and the air, while also rendering the print water-resistant." @ Mick - if you have a jailbroken phone, you can get iBlueNova and it works swell with the pogo printer.

Yeah, okay, and how long before the paper for this printer becomes hard to find like my pogo Polaroid printer?

I saw Polaroid Pogo printing paper on clearance at my local Target store on Saturday. Quite a bit cheaper now!
