iOS 4.2: Rebuild your photo library

If you have just upgraded to iOS 4.2, you may find your video editing app/apps no longer show the videos in your camera roll, but instead just a grayed out place-holder.
Don't worry, as this problem seems to be easily fixed by opening your iDevice's default photo app. The first time you do this following the iOS 4.2 update, you will see your photo library rebuilding/updating, and then your videos should be visible again in your video editing app/apps.

Videos are not showing at all for me even after trying the work around. you suggest I also took a new video, synched, created an event with it, re-synched and this does not show either. :(
@Nick. Try killing the app and then see if your videos show up.
Glyn, killing which app?
They are just not showing up in Photos.app but do seem to be on the iOS device. I created a new video with Vintage Movei app using old video, synched across to Mac/iPhoto fine but still does not show in Photos.app when synching back to iPhone.
@Nick, ah, this is a different problem to the one I had. I could see my videos in my camera roll after the rebuild.
If anyone has any other ideas, then please share.
I uploaded a new movie and 'poof' al previously loaded movies showed up again?
Photo library only rebuilt for my iPhone 3GS, not my 3G.
A lot of the iOS 4.2 goodies appear to be for the 3GS and iPhone 4 only, bummer!
