Get your Glif now

Remember back in October I told you about a new upstart company that had designed a sleek iPhone 4 tripod adaptor called the Glif. Well the Glif has now gone in to production and can be ordered via the companies website for $20 USD plus shipping.

For more information or to order your Glif, then head over to the Glif website.

If your looking for a cheaper alternative to the Glif, then why not check out the iPhone Tripod Holder from one of our advertisers, G Design.

Ok - totally odd question, but does anyone know the clock app they were using at 0:47, "Alarm Clock" ?

I would love to hear from anyone who has tested it on an iPod Touch 4G. Not sure how the dimensions compare exactly, but I don't have an iphone and would love to be able to use it on the iPod Touch.

@Nigel, this is an iPhone 4 only tripod adaptor, so sadly will not suit the iPod touch.

will my iPhone fit with the protective case or would I need to remove that?

@Charles, as previously mentioned, the Glif is for a naked iPhone 4 only.

I have one of them. They are not too bad. They have to bee completed naked. Cases will not work. ALSO ZAGG INVISIBLE SHIELDS WILL GET RUINED!

The side strips to my Zagg shield that cover the metal strips are fine though. Just on the front and back glass part. So no cases, no front' back screen protectors of any kind.

Also I do feel like the iPhone could fall out of it you are not careful. It is held on by tension. So I would imagine the more you work the phone in and out the looser the plastic will get.

The last thing is that the little notch in the side that you can use as a "hands free stand" is just crap. I can't get the phone to stand at an angle with that device that does not require that to block part of the screen.

It is an interesting design. I gave them $50 to help out their company. I like the device. I worry about the longevity of the ability to hold your phone securely. Also I miss having a zagg shield on my phone.

The iPhone Tripods Holder does a better job of making your phone feel more secure. It just does not look as sexy.

I ordered 2 as soon as I heard. Simple and elegant design.

I don't know if you allow shameless promotions on your site, but I would like to promote something shamelessly. For anyone who likes the Glif but thinks 20 bucks is a bit steep, the company I work for offers a similar product for 10 dollars. It's called the GrippIt and it's available here: http://www.digitaltreasures.com/camera_acc_details.php?recordID=07471

Brad, when you see something like this it makes you realise just how good the Glif looks, and how the $20 price tag is worth it.

I know our product won't win any beauty pageants. But it totally works the same. I even went as far as to make a video about it in the same style as that Glif montage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3wFx7CofDo
