Turn your iPhone video in to a Flickbook

"The new "Flickbooks" App allows you to turn your iPhone videos into a fabulous animation book at the flip of your thumb!

Do you remember the good old flipbooks from your childhood? Of course you do, how could you forget them? Well now with the free iPhone App "Flickbooks" you can set your life in motion by giving your digital videos the ultimate retro feeling.

A young Swiss start-up has created an App that transforms your iPhone into a flipbook printer. Simply record a video and edit your film in a few easy steps directly on your iPhone. Your personal flipbook will then be produced by a professional printing company and sent to you by mail within 14 days. The flipbooks are manufactured on durable paper (200g/m2) with a high quality binding. Each flipbook consists of 50 pages and is about the size of an iPhone.

Be your own director! Capture your baby’s first steps with your iPhone, or film your wild adventures with your friends. Of course, you can also choose an existing video from your iPhone in order to relive those memorable moments in a flipbook. Just choose a matching section, cut the video into the right length and create your own design or add a greeting text to the cover. Upon submission your personalized flipbook will be professionally printed to bring you, your family and friends flip out entertainment!"

The "Flickbooks" app is iPhone 3GS and 4G compatible, and is available for free from the App Store.

The software might be free but the printed flip books cost $10 each - too expensive for me. There is the free software FlipBooker for the Mac that allows you to make and print your own. get it here:

Sorry I forgot to mention FlipBooker is PPC only.

Another I use is FlipbookTweaker which is really easy to use but costs $15 for life time updates. This works on Intel macs as well.

I think it's a great idea!

I just need to find a nice film, then I might give it a try. It would be nice as christmas card or so.
