App Update: ProCamera

The award winning* app that is ProCamera has just had a major update, and whilst I generally do not like camera replacement apps, this update may change that.

Stay tuned for my review of this app coming soon, but until then, this is what is new.

  • Complete redesign with an even more intuitive usability
  • Direct one-touch video recorder access
  • Sound feedback (can be turned off/on within app settings)
  • ProFX Studio: Bring out your creativity and transform any picture into a beautiful piece of art - with a single tap. Dozens of filters and effects for infinite fun
  • ProCut Studio: Get crooked pictures straight, change the aspect ratio manually or use one of the presets. Crop, rotate and flip your pictures horizontally or vertically
  • Photo Lab: New auto-buttons to let ProCamera magically improve your pictures + new scene modes
  • Fullscreen Trigger can be turned on/off within app settings
  • Optionally use the Fullscreen Trigger with the Anti-Shake function
  • Geotagging can be turned on/off within app settings (to save battery)
  • Performance improvements
  • Bug fixes

I've used just about every camera app in the App Store, and I can say that this is the only (current) app that made it to my home screen. Actually, The default camera is now in a folder called "junk" on the 5th page of my iPhone. If you buy only 1 camera app, make it ProCamera.

I like the updater
the interface is much better than before and it takes the photos faster now but still lag a bit in time to make it my default camera.
But it's getting there and with an improvment of the camera speed, after I release the shutter button it waits a second to take the photo and I lose the moment. If this is fixed I´ll make it my #1 photo app.

That's odd. I find ProCamera much faster than the default camera, especially at taking multiple pictures in a row..

Anyone else think they ripped a lot of UI elements from Camera+? heh.

I'm not sure who ripped elements/features from whom ;-)
But I love the new UI! It is really smart..
I think, this capture lag only occurs while using the expert controls.. When I'm shooting pix it is the fastest cam I've ever seen.
Try setting ProCamera to auto-save, and turn off expert mode.. You can shoot one picture after the other.. Quite impressive, since the standard cam takes 2 seconds to reload..
btw: I'm using an iPhone 4 with iOS 4.1

I think it's great what they have done with this app since the last few updates. I have been using this app since version one point something. It was good back then when there were only a few camera apps on the appstore. And it's definitely the best now. This update just underlined what a great app this is. I remember a dozen of updates. There are only few apps I ever bought which bring out so many free updates. And this is one of the very few apps which actually get improved - and don't just get overloaded with useless stuff.
