Editors comments:
This apps description includes the words "The Official Polaroid Digital Camera App", however this is not from the same developer as the other official Polaroid camera app "InstantCam".

I've not tried this app, but have heard comments on Twitter that it does not work, and looking at the developers LoL Software other software [editor: Laugh out Load Software?], this app has a smell of Molinker about it.  Hopefully I am wrong, and it is nothing more than Polaroid's owners selling licenses to developers, which whilst will become confusing and misleading at first, in the long run, will help established Polaroid app developers produce that true Polaroid faux look.

APP IS HORRIBLE!!!!

Resolution is terrible and the app crashes constantly.

DO NOT BUY!

I was leery about buying it but I did anyway. It's fantastic! It's worked fine for me on my 3GS. Full resolution support (1536x1536), great UI and 30 great effects and borders. I don't know why everyone else seems to be having such an issue. The reviews are horrible but I have nothing bad to say about this app. It's actually really good. If you want me to send in a couple of test shots, I'd be more than happy to do so.

I downloaded it, worked with it for 20 minutes and deleted it from my iPhone. Screen did nit respond, outcome was bad,30 filters but a lot are bad, etcetera. I wouldn't buy it again ..

Works fine on my iphone 4. Not very impressive color-wise and the Polaroid frame seems to be just solid white. Still it does work and some might find it fun. The sound fx are annoying, though.

Neither the original nor the copy with effects are saved with any metadata. It means: no camera info, no date/time and no GPS. Crap!
And the UI is very little responsive

I really do not see what all the trouble is. I've been using this app all day. I've had zero problems. I think the UI is very responsive, the buttons were a little tricky but that's because they don't do anything when they are pushed, you have to slide them. I know nothing about the metadata yet because I haven't transferred any pics to my computer. I guess I lucked out.

I will skip this one until they fix the crashing.

If Polaroid granted him a license then he would be obligated to note that.
I'm surprised Apple didn't catch this. According to copyright law they are as responsible as LOL Software is.
I think this is some bozo who thinks he can get away with it. I noticed that one of his other apps is a movie he downloaded from Archive.org.

@Jeff Beaumont Click on the "i" in the corner of the app. The license is there. Search Classic Cinema in the app store, lol software has tons of "classic" movies in the app store. I think if there was a licensing issue, Apple would've called them out by now. Let's just see how this all unfolds. Hopefully it's not a Molinker clone.

This doesn't "look" very Polaroid to me. Reviews are horrible and I'm not buying.

Crash happens on OS versions prior to 4.2. It also crashed for me until I updated to 4.2.1.
I like the output of this app but the UI is not very user friendly and processing in high quality is slower than other apps.

Well...I went and bought the other polaroid app. I wish that app had all of the filter that this app does. After using this app for a day, I've come to the conclusion that it's not a great app. The borders are really bland. The only thing that this app offers over the other is the filter options and full resolution (at least on the 3GS). Bottom Line: This app is stable (if you're running 4.2.1) and some of the filters are great. However, the borders are not all that hot and I wish they had more texture.

I kinda wonder if there's going to be a flood of "official" polaroid apps coming into the app store. That may get messy.

I was already getting confused when I saw two in the top 50 of the Photography section. Even more confused when I saw that the lower ranked one had an average 3 star rating while the higher ranked one (this little guy here) had an average 1 star rating. There's going to be quite the situation in the app store if more start popping up
