Hi Glyn, I just upgraded. (adieu volume snap). The improvements seem generous (a peace offering perhaps?) but I am liking it very much so far. The only thing I'm very disappointed in is that Touch focus/Touch exposure does not work nearly as well as the older version. Before I could take a photo in a dark area and the exposure I could lighten enough to shoot a decent photo without resorting to HDR. Aside from this, I appreciate the way the app opens to camera without that faux SLR screen. It performs much faster and saves faster. I'm hoping they tweak the exposure control but otherwise I'm glad I upgraded. Look forward to reading what other iphoneographers think about the upgrade.

I love it! So far the new analog effects are not yet available. The app seems quicker in all aspects to me. It's nice to have some control over the amount of effects applied to the photo. Good riddance to ProCamera.

Is there a way to save an older version of an app??

I'm considering the update, but dont want to lose the volume snap option. I think I'll update my old 3GS and leave the iP4 as is, with the older version. This will allow me to take pictures with the volume button on iP4 and still "shop" the pics on the old 3GS with the new filters. I guess I can compare the two versions without losing a feature I know I can never recapture. Thanks for the heads up!

I'm totally digging the new update and can't wait until I can finally get my hands on the analog filters. I've never taken it off of my phone and, since I never really used the volume button feature that was hidden in the old version, I wasn't sad about losing anything in the update. A little annoyed that they decided to make the new filters an in-app purchase though - didn't we already pay for the app? Grrrr, even as a business major that still ticks me off. But, I guess it's whatever. I still want them.

Not going to upgrade. The only thing useful on this app to me is the volume snap - I've got dozens of other effects apps to use. I get that it was removed to appease Apple but until I hear about that feature either being fully supported or a new secret handshake I absolutely refuse to update this app.

you forgot to mention the best feature, EXIF data is finally preserved, and edits are commented in exif!

Go to settings if you purchased already and hit "restore purchases" and you get your filters back

The "Burst" mode takes images at 640 x 480. Really?! I like many other things about the update however.

Why is it still without Movie ? thats not good..

Tap Tap Tap is a shady developer that loves their silly graphics. Yeah, they got rid of the dumb SLR camera back graphics but they kept the stupid lightbox. Come on! Save the pics I take to my camera roll like every other camera app! It's so annoying to plug in my iPhone and have no pics to download. Huh? I took a ton! Oh yeah. They're in the Camera+ lightbox. So I have to launch the app and transfer the pics to my camera roll before I can download them to my computer. I hate when apps add extra steps to things that should be easy just because they want their app to be different. Maybe the next time this app gets yanked from the app store they'll take the time to get it right. They had months! Why didn't they get it right this time? Sorry but there are better camera apps.

Yeah, ProCamera definitely stays on top of this.

I'm going to echo Sonny's statement:

"The "Burst" mode takes images at 640 x 480. Really?! I like many other things about the update however."

This update puts Camera+ back on top over ProCamera for me. The speed improvements, white balance lock, fixed anti-shake mode, and improved filters are great improvements.

I do wish they would add video recording as well though. That's the only feature of ProCamera I really miss.

December 22, 2010 | Unregistered Commenterjordandev

How does this update make Camera+ better than ProCamera's new update? ProCamera is better and more responsive in every category.

I hate that with Camera+, you can't save your button settings so that it always takes picture in anti-shake mode, or burst mode, or whatever. You always have to change it back to what you want. You also can't save directly to your photo album.

"10. added white balance lock"

It locks the "position" on screen that it calculates the white balance from.. but it doesn't lock the actual calculated white balance like Pro Camera does.. Am I the only one with this experience?

December 22, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterBrian

I like it better than Pro Camera on most accounts. User interface and Quality are better, imo.

Also, I love the ability to have the slider on the great looks. Only request would be to have alternate light leaks for the looks that include light leaks. Otherwise, I end up not using them.

Having just bought ProCamera after reading the review from Glyn on this site, which I really like.

Is there anything extra I can get from Camera+ to make it worthwhile buying?

December 22, 2010 | Unregistered Commenterreg

There is no sound when recording video, volume is up high, not a sound, not good, missed a whole speech at a 21st party, very peeved off
