New Universal Photo App: Photo Editor HD

WARNING: Avoid this app!! Read on to find out why.

I put the warning at the top of this post, because I wanted to ensure no one buys this app in error as I just did. Whilst looking at the app in iTunes, I accidently and stupidly clicked on "Buy App", and because I had just authenticated my account for a previous purchase, one click was all it took.

The artwork to go with the app looks good, in fact I would say "more work has gone into this artwork than the app itself."

As for the app, the developers description is basic, saying...

"Your pictures are not nice? You don't look so good? Try Picture Editor so your colors will look the best!

Change gradually the:

  • Brightness
  • Saturation
  • Hue

Then eMail them to anyone!

Get your download today!"

Yep, that's the description, and with this app all you can do, sorry can't do, because the app does not work, but if it did work, all you could do is adjust the Brightness, Saturation and Hue, and then email it!! Yes, that's right, there is no option to save, just email, how useless is that!!

Not only do the sliders to adjust the Brightness, Saturation and Hue not work, but if you load a landscape photo it is displayed as a portrait and squished, and a portrait photo is displayed as a landscape and stretched!!

Above: Stretched and Squished

So in answer to the developers questions in the apps description,

  1. Your pictures are not nice? No, not now they've been through your app.
  2. You don't look so good? No, not now I've been stretched and squished by your app.

The bottom line is this app is a complete waste of money and falls in to the category of lets scam some money out of you by fooling you with pretty artwork, so be warned and stay clear!!

Holla...
and there is a lite Version as well... Unfortunately Photo-Apps are among the bestselling Apps nowadays, so a lot of developers jump the boat.

Good catch and good warning! Even if the costs are not as high as some other App's out there which are useless OR include uploading images to the developers servers - which is IMO more scam.

Merry Xmas and happy holidays!
Cheers

I thought Apple was supposed to catch Apps that don't work as advertised.

You flag it yet? If enough people said it doesn't work then Apple will remove it from the app store so no one makes the same mistake you did.
