New iPhone Photo App: Face2Face 3D for iPhone

Face2Face brings 3D to the face swapping and blending game!

Grab a pair of faces from either 1 or 2 photos. Face2Face makes a 3D mask of each face that fits perfectly over the other one. Then the blending starts! You can swap heads or create your favourite blend between the face pair.

Check out the halfway blend between you and your partner. Is this REALLY what your kids will look like when they grow up??

Because Face2Face uses super-advanced 3D computer vision methods, the faces don't even have to be pointing directly at the camera! Traditional 2D methods often make it look like a cutout head has been pasted onto a body. But Face2Face's 3D algorithms automatically determine and compensate for the orientation of the heads, giving you the most convincing blends.

The overlay masks are also fun to play with using the iPhone touch interface. If you're not perfectly satisfied with the initial orientation of the swapped face, you can move, stretch, and rotate the face in full 3D to get exactly the effect you desire.

When your creation is complete, you can upload it directly to Facebook, email it to friends, or save it to your device for a surprise laugh later on.

Purchased. Works, but for me only an OK app. Faces are somewhat distorted, and I haven't yet figured a way to fix this. The app costs a buck, and that's about it worth for me. If photos are close in size, the app works as the video demonstrates. My two cents.

I had a lot of fun with this one! I really like the way the faces appear in 3D and you can rotate them around to position them exactly the way you want to. Took a little getting used to positioning the markers on the faces, but after that worked well. Definitely worth a buck.

Pretty cool. Definitely helps to watch the video first. I went back and watched it again because it was a little confusing. It's nice that it works even when the face is not straight on. Had fun importing celebrity photos from web.
