PMA Day 2: The presentations went well
Monday, February 22, 2010 at 1:08PM |
Glyn Evans OK, so day 2 of PMA is now done and dusted, and apart from some technical issues caused by the endless number of WiFi hotspots/repeasters that were in the exhibition hall, it went well. The day started with a look at CameraBag and Format126, followed by a demonstration of Tiffen's Photo fx.
After lunch we had Brad Malcolm from Athentech talk about the technology behind their app Perfectly Clear and demonstrated the iPhone apps capabilities, followed by fellow Brit Paul Nolan from Idruna Software, who demonstrated his Windows Mobile app Pocket Phojo. Then came the turn of who I consider to be one of the best iPhoneographers we currently have, Sion Fullana, who did an excellent job talking about his street photography, his favourite iPhone apps, and the techniques he uses to capture those magical moments in time.

During the show I had a number of free giveaways, including some Gorillamobile tripods from the nice people at Joby (if you're at the show, then go check them out at Booth #1436, and take a look at their new magnetic tripod (review coming soon)).
For those of you who are unable to attend the show, then below I have some promo codes for CameraBag (please post in the comments section which promo code you have taken).

As with the previous evening I was treated to a meal by the very nice people from Lifepics, who have an open source API that iPhone app developers can incorporate in to their photo apps and allow users to upload their iPhone photos to the Lifepics servers and then place orders for those photo's via Lifepics partnering photo processors (if you are an app developer, then stay tuned for more news on this app integration).
So that's day 2 out of the way, stay tuned to news on todays events either later this evening or tomorrow morning (depending on your time-zone and my erratic sleep pattern).
