Review: U+3G iPhone tripod holder

The U+3G iPhone tripod holder is a basic no frills holder designed to hold any iPhone, whether it is a 2G, 3G or 3GS, and mount it on any tripod or anything else come to that with a standard screw thread.

Made from sturdy ABS plastic, this no frills holder is the ideal companion to any budget tabletop or regular tripod, making it perfect for taking self-portraits or time-lapse photos with apps like FotoTimer.

Whilst there are other tripod solutions available for the iPhone, what makes this one stand out for me, is its price, a mere $8.95 plus shipping, and if you already have a tripod, then this could be the cheapest solution for you.

Like's:

  • Price
  • Build quality
  • Simple design
  • Snug fit for all current iPhone models

Dislike's:

  • iPhone can't be used when in a case

If you would like to order the U+3G iPhone holder, then click here and buy direct from the designers website.

I wish i could find a nice little tripod holder that can fit with one of the encase slip cases on the phone.

I will never understand the desire to tripod your iPhone .... use a real camera for that stuff and leave the handheld creative stuff to the iPhone.

I forgot to mention that its cheep enough and light and small enough to tote around with you,and while you wont tripod your iphone all the time..there are some apps (time shots etc) where this is very useful and its small enough to put in your pockek with out noyicing it..

Also be sure to check out this one, I bought one on eBay for $7 shipped and I love it ... it holds the phone in a landscape position ... I use it with my iPhone 4:
