iQuikSplash gets update, but has it improved?

Glyn Evans On Monday I announced iQuikSplash and wrote a mini review of the app, giving it my worst ever score, 0 stars.
The developer of the app posted the following comment...
"The app was created to splash a color. Not an object. The app selectively highlights shades of the color you selected, in this case red. In case of a photo like yours here, you will need to use the "Area Quiksplash" function (added in Version 1.2) - where you can define the area you want to splash, but there is no need to be accurate, since the app will do the selection for you. Version 1.2 should be out in a day or so.
As for needing to rotate after loading a photo, that is requirement from Apple, the photo picker is not allowed to be shown in landscape mode (The app was rejected because of displaying the picker in landscape mode). I may switch the app to work in Portrait in the future if it bothers most users."
...in response to my rating, and today version 1.2 was released with the following new features/enhancements.
- Added "Area QuikSplash" function
- Change to Portrait app as requested by users
- Change support up to 800pixels (previously 640pixels)
- Improved buttons graphics
- Improved User Interface
Whilst the above improvements are welcomed, as my sample photo below shows the end results are still disappointing and whilst the resolution has improved, it is still classed as a low-res app.

My final thoughts
I still find the interface clunky, the colour selection poor, and with the low-res results can not give this app anymore than 1 star, which I know the developer will be disappointed in, but this is just my opinion compared with apps of this type.

Hi! Really appreciate your time to review version 1.2 quite quickly as it went out. I am continuing to improve this app as time progresses.
But I guess most people misunderstood about the purpose of this app, due to the prior existance of Color Splash app. iQuikSplash is created to splash colors, not an object (Color Splash does that already). In the case of your photo here, it would probably not a good candidate to test. Anyway, thanks again for the review.
For more samples of the app's capability, I created a flickr group - http://flickr.com/groups/iquiksplash/
And here are few of good photos to show the capability of the app done by one of the users:

Thanks again for your honest reviews!

In all fairness, one of the advantages of the apps from this developer is his readiness to listen to users and to produce apps that fit our requirements. I suspect that this will not be the final version, and that the developer will tweak it with respect to the constructive criticism users provide.
BTW I'm not related to the guy, but had an exchange with him about appli-fx
Thanks for your comments, Lucy.
Anyway, I thought everyone ought to know that Apple seems to like iQuikSplash.
It is being featured in US App Store's New & Noteworthy.
;)
iQuikSplash version 1.5 is now on the app store. It is a major update!! Improvement on the ways to select the objects - you can now combine area and color selection to make up 3 types of selections.
I have also released a PRO version of iQuikSplash, named Splash Factory. It has so much features which is very helpful to splash even quiker and easier.
