Above: The alleged iPhone 4/HD courtesy of Gizmodo.comRumors of the next generation iPhone are all over the web, with Gizmodo having exclusive photos and hands-on videos of what is believed to be the iPhone 4/iPhone HD.
What's new
- Front-facing video chat camera
- Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS)
- Camera flash
- Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad)
- Improved display. It's unclear if it's the 960x640 display thrown around before—it certainly looks like it, with the "Connect to iTunes" screen displaying much higher resolution than on a 3GS.
- What looks to be a secondary mic for noise cancellation, at the top, next to the headphone jack
- Split buttons for volume
- Power, mute, and volume buttons are all metallic
What's changed
- The back is entirely flat, made of either glass (more likely) or ceramic or shiny plastic in order for the cell signal to poke through. Tapping on the back makes a more hollow and higher pitched sound compared to tapping on the glass on the front/screen, but that could just be the orientation of components inside making for a different sound
- An aluminum border going completely around the outside
- Slightly smaller screen than the 3GS (but seemingly higher resolution)
- Everything is more squared off
- 3 grams heavier
- 16% Larger battery
- Internals components are shrunken, miniaturized and reduced to make room for the larger battery
Above: The alleged iPhone 4/HD showing the possible new 5 megapixel camera and LED light/flash.Of all the alleged new features it is the front-facing video camera, the camera flash and the possibility of the inclusion of a 5 megapixel camera tied in with the 5x digital zoom of the iPhone OS 4 that will be of interest to most iPhoneographers.
For more information, and to see the photos and videos head over to Gizmodo.com, and whilst this could be a hoax, I personally think it is the real deal, and can't wait for its release.

I'll be in my bunk.
The 3Gs didn't make me want to trade in my trusty 3G, but if even half of what is rumered about the 4G is true then i may have to seriously consider an upgrade next Spring when its time for renewal.
I guess I should add the bunk that was a joke. I won't be getting an iPhone until I can actually make and receive phone calls with one reliably. Which means no AT&T for me.
Got a G3s right now and I will not buy any other iPhone unless Apple loosens it's ridiculous policies! As a developer I was tempted to make apps for it too but my enthusiasm disappeared quickly with Apples draconian methods. So I will probably rather go for a Google Nexus after it is more well spread out.
