Editors comments: This is a simple easy to use and well thought out app, that lets you merge 2 photos together giving a double exposure look to your iPhone photos, however there is a but, a big but.
The App
When you launch the app you are presented with the home screen that prompts you to take or load 2 photos. These will be the 2 photos that you will use to create your Doublexposure, and as per the instructions on this screen, simply tap boxes 1 and 2, and load or take your photos. When loaded the photos can then be dragged around the frame, and/or pinched to zoom, and when framed tap done and you will be presented with the apps 6 formulas which merge the 2 photos together with different colour effects.

When you are happy with the merged photos and blended colour effects, simply tap save and your photo will be saved to the camera roll, and that's it you're done.
Above: The top 2 photos are the ones used to create the 'Doublexposure' photo above.
Now whilst this app is easy to use, there is the usual problem, and surprise surprise that is file size, which is an abysmal 320 x 320 pixels!!
So what do I think of Doublexposure?
Normally I would slate an app that offered such an appalling resolution, and whilst this must be addressed by the developer, this app has the easiest and simplest of interfaces I've seen on any double exposure app, and as such could be a great app.
As with any app that only offers low resolution I will give it 2 stars, and whilst I would not recommend buying this app just yet, it is definitely one to watch.

This app really needs to be free. It is utterly useless until they increase the resolution. What can I really do with a pic that is close to being a thumbnail?? I will continue to make multiple exposures using the Snap Toy Camera app.
I already bought the app, and I really like the ease of use and I've gotten really nice results with it. It is too bad about the save res, pretty much useless for anything except making userpics for forums and Facebook, and I hope the developer remedies that in the future. Until then, I guess I'll stick to Blendcam. At least the size is somewhat better with that one.
I also use Blendcam until a better solution is available. Its free and gives a resolution of 800x600 on a 3GS.
I really had high hopes for this app but the "crop to square" description instantly made me think "oh noes, low resolution!" And you proved me right. Thanks for saving me a buck!
You guys, there's an option better than BlendCam. Search for Backgroundz in the iTunes store.
Here, I've found it for ya:

Glyn, if you haven't thought about reviewing this one yet, I'd love to hear your input on this app.
Jennyland
DXP is by far my fave for this sort of thing... the interface icons take a minute to figure out initially, but it's been used daily since i got it... tons of blending options (turn on additional ones in settings) and you can just keep on adding images if you wanna get crazy abstract with it.
I use Blendcam, DXP, and just about to try Backgroundz.
Would consider DoubleExposure if the res increases
I have Backgrundz and it tends to blend a little harsh for me. The results are crap if you are trying to double expose two items with dark backgrounds. Will try out DXP, but was leery about their low res too.
@Jennyland. I had hoped to review Backgroundz, but it crashes every time I try to create the image :(
Snap Toy Camera can save multiple exposures at full res. It can be buggy at times, but I have created some really funky shots with it.
I bought this app & deleted it within minutes!
ANY app that makes you select & auto square crop my loaded photo is ALWAYS a low resolution crapper !!! AVOID THIS P.O.S
Anyone want a FREE promo code for Backgroundz Multiple Exposure app with FULL RES ???
Just ask me on Twitter.... I have a bunch.
BTW I gave Glyn 10 free codes that I have yet to see be given out.
SCW
@SCW. The promo codes are not forgotten, they will be given away with my review of Backgroundz, which has been delayed as the app crashed 100% of the time on my 8GB iPhone 3G. The good news is that I have been working with the developer of Backgroundz and he has now found the bug and fixed the crash problem, so I can now review it :)
Great... I have been testing betas for a few months progressing this app further.
I haven't had it crash on me yet, so that's a surprise to hear! I have a 16 GB 3GS iPhone, for what it's worth. I just signed up to assist with the Beta for Backgroundz, I'm highly motivated to see them succeed since I am enjoying their app so much, hee!
I am currently testing the beta Backgroundz app with color gradient filter and it has yet to crash on my 3Gs. I love it as a multiple exposure app and have gotten some really nice photos out of it. Definitely my number one app for photo mash-ups. I won't waste my money on DXP until it turns out full res photos.
@Jennyland, @Mikkers. Between myself and the developers it was discovered there are a memory leak problem that was not showing up on the 3GS, but was on the 3G. The good news is this problem has been fixed in the beta which will flow down to the AppStore, and as soon as I get a chance I will review the app.
Hey, it looks like Doublexposure has been updated with hi-res modes. Has anyone tried it yet? I'm still debating whether to buy it or not...
