Description from the AppStore: Burst mode is always fun, even better when it's blazing fast, and this is what this app does best, capturing as many as 15/20 pictures in a single second, you'll be sure that you won't miss a moment, like your cute baby making funny faces or your huge air on the snow slopes...
A nice and simple user interface will let you edit/save/remove every single frame of your picture sequence so you'll be sure to save only what you really want!
You can choose between single shot or continuous shot mode.
- In single mode you have to tap the screen every time you want to capture a moment
- In continuous mode you just keep your finger down like you would do on your DSLR and the app will take pictures as fast as it can!

If you choose a slower shutter speed you can also take high-res photos (full resolution of your camera), while the super fast shutter speed will take shots at a lower resolution to let you take them as quick as it can.
Full resolution burst mode is limited to 3 pictures per sequence in this version, while the super fast shutter speed is capped at 30 but it could be unlimited.

This is a promising new camera app for quick shooting! I've tested both TurboCamera and this one and ShutterBurst feels more useful for field usage. It can take photos extremely fast (faster than TurboCam) but I wasn't able to change between Low-Res and Hi-Res mode (a bug?) One plus that this camera has is that it stays completely silent if you turned on manner mode. Very useful for taking unnoticed photos (no second thought intended ;-))! Other than that it would be nice if you'd just have to press the screen once to take photos instead of holding the finger on it.
Ok I'm getting it now ... the low-res hi-res texts aren't supposed to be buttons but only show you that you that the app will produce hi-res images at 0.75 seconds or slower.
Hi Sascha, I'm the author of the app, thanks for the nice comment!
I was wondering if in continuous mode you could just press the screen once to take all the pictures but I've felt like you maybe wanted more control over it.
I may add a new mode as a "single/continuous tap", it sounds right.
I also wanted to add another view to edit/select your pictures, one of those "image pickers" that the default camera app has, with the whole grid of pictures rendered in just one scrollable view, does it sounds interesting to have?
Cheers,
Dado.
Hi, Dado,
Gorillacam has a similar feature where you can hold the shutter button down for burst shots. How does Shutter Burst compare with regards to speed (number of shots per second and total number of shots that can be taken)?

@Dado,
I meant to add in full-resolution burst mode -- let's compare apples to apples.

Hi Dado, I think most users will want to take a defined number of frames and then be good with it so just tapping the screen once instead of holding down on it to take x number of shots sounds reasonable to me.
Other than that a good feature would be to make it possible to place the "brightness picker" on the screen like in the default camera (G3s only I believe?) to adjust the brightness of the photo(s). Now you made the whole screen as a trigger button which is great. However in some other apps like Pro Camera you can still set the brightness point by holding finger down for longer while you can shoot by tapping shortly. It would be cool if a feature like the brightness picker isn't lost here (like in many other camera apps that don't support it).
I think the Image Picker view is fine like it is now. It works very well for me. A thumbnail view could make sense if the user wants to take plenty of frames but I usually only need 10 frames or so. Maybe this could be an option s othe user can choose whast kind of view they prefer.
... just some thoughts! :)
Hi =M=
I've got gorilla cam and the speed of high res pictures shutter mode is pretty similar.
I couldnt determine exactly which was faster so i reckon ShutterBurst and GorillaCam uses exactly the same API functions for high-res burst mode.
For the low res instead I've used some tricks that makes it incredibly fast, but if I recall correctly when you reviewed my other app you've always asked for hi-res modes so I know you are a bit less interested in low res :)
Still at least it's as good as gorilla cam in hi-res :)
Cheers,
Dado.
Hi Sascha,
Ah yes I see what you mean, indeed I've "lost" the brigthness picker by going full screen, I needed that to achieve the very fast burst mode.
But maybe I can still fit it in tabbar somewhere...
I thought the thumbnails view would have been a popular choice but I need to do more polls to see if it's really something users want!
Thank you for your feedback!
How small is "lo-res"? 800x600 or ... Thanks.
Tried it and looks like I will have to stick with snapture unfortunately. It would be nice to have to option to view and save or to automatically save in the background! At full res I am stuck with 3 images I have to tell it to save BEFORE I can take more?!? Please add the option for background saving! Non destructive app closing or phone calls would be really nice also. A call or a crash can wipe out some really good pics!
to answer my own question, low-res, in this case means 426x320.
full res with a lot more then 3 shots would give this app a spot on my phone. if there was a way for txts screen pop ups to not ruin shots that would, obviously, also be a nice touch. for now i'll keep looking for other options. unfortunately, 426x320 isn't going to cut it for me.
