Price Drop: Vint B&W now available for FREE

Editor One of the best black and white apps for the iPhone is now available for free from the AppStore.
Vint B&W [AppStore Link] from Erik Pettersson offers the best tonal range of any black and white app currently available for the iPhone (see sample below), however unlike other apps in this category, you can only take photos with it, converting them to black and white as they are saved.
The app does however support full res, and tap-to-focus on the iPhone 3GS, and for free is a bargain not to be missed.

In addition to Vint B&W being free, Erik's other apps, Vint Red, Vint Green and Vint Shift are also free.
Note: I am not sure why, but at time of writing, these apps appear to have been removed from the UK AppStore.

UPDATE: I have contacted the developer of this app regarding its absence from the UK and European AppStores, and he hopes to have it back by the end of May. As soon as I have more info on the return of this app, i will post it here on the blog.

I love VINT B&W and it's a great black and white app that is worth the money and is a steal for free. However, his other apps appear to have crashing issues. I downloaded Vint Green and it kept crashing on me after every photo. According to the reviews for his other apps, users are experiencing a similar problem.
Funny, I downloaded Vintage Green as one of my very first photo apps back in 2008 but deleted it soon after as a one trick pony for which I had no saddle. I saw your post here and decided to give Vintage B&W a try (why not...it's FREE) even though I have plenty of great apps that will allow me to edit any photo in my camera roll from color to B&W, this app really does seem to take great B&W photos!
Thanks Erik!
I've found that to be the case too. The tonal range is something else. I paid for it and I'd usually mind if the app I paid for suddenly drops in pricing after I've purchased it but I've taken beautiful black and whites with it, it was worth it.
Can anyone offer advice as to how a uk itunes user can get this app. im redirected to the us version of the itunes store/app store but when i try to log in i get told that my account is only valid for the uk store?
