The iPhoneography Showcase of Tony Platt

About Me: ''My name is Tony Platt and I live in Devon. I have had a lifelong interest in photography but never took it seriously as a career untill three years ago. Now I am in my final year as a mature student studying for a degree in photography.

I have used all sorts of cameras from high end digital to low-end toy cameras.  Now, with the iPhone, I can imitate a lot of my favourite cameras with a minimum amount of fuss and considerably less cost. It has made my work more spontaneous and considered at the same time. Very few people seem concerned when you are carrying around a phone to take pictures rather than your regular DSLR.

With the iPhone on me at all times, there seem to be more photographs to be taken around me than ever before.  I even enjoy going out with my wife shopping now as it gives me another chance to use it more!!

My black and white film work is very much influenced by Robert Frank, Ted Croner and Saul Leiter which comes out in my black and white iPhone images. For this I use Pure Carbon. My other favourite apps include Tilt Shift Generator, Lo-Mob, CameraBag and Hipstamatic but I'm still willing to try any new apps as you never know what you're going to get with the final images.

I've not had this much fun with a camera in a long time.''
