Description from the AppStore: ClearCam takes the guesswork out of taking sharp photos on your iPhone.
ClearCam rapidly captures three (3) photos and automatically determines which is the sharpest. The best photo is then saved to the Camera Roll.
AppStore Link: ClearCam - Price £2.99/$4.99
Editors comments: I originally covered ClearCam back in February 2009, when it was only available for jailbroken iPhones. It has taken over a year for this app to find its way to the AppStore, but in the process it has lost one of its key features.
The original app included a "QuickShot Mode", which took 4 photos in under 2 seconds and then saved the sharpest, and the ability to emulate the quality of a 4 megapixel camera by taking 6 photos in 2.5 seconds when in "Enhanced Mode", which back then was something we all wanted.
That was the app last year, but what have we got today?
Well the user interface is similar, clean and simple, with just an icon to take your shot, but sadly there is no "Enhanced Mode", and so all you get for your money is a reduced 3 shot "QuickShot Mode", that like the original "QuickShot Mode" automatically saves what it calculates is the sharpest/clearest shot.
So what do I think of ClearCam?
The app itself works well, but with such limited features (just the 3 shot "QuickShot Mode") it really is just not worth the £2.99/$4.99 price tag.

UPDATE: Whilst finalising this post I went to grab the AppStore link, only to discover the app has been removed. I'm not sure why, or whether this is temporary or permanent, but decided to post the app and my thoughts anyway.
Who knows, the app may come back with the "Enhanced Mode" enabled and at a reduced price!! We can but hope :)

UPATE: ClearCam has been re-released at a new lower price, see my update post here.

Here's hoping! I agree with your review that with only one original feature and for such a high price (especially for a jailbroken feature...I mean, that stuff is free!), regardless if this app ever shows up in the app store, I would pass on it.
I agree, Glyn. I was waiting for ClearCam to pass Apple's muster and was excited when I saw it show up in the App Store. It quickly turned to disappointment when I found that the Enhanced Mode was no longer available, which is the main reason ClearCam JB is still on my iPhone.
Here's hoping it's added soon. It's a really nice feature.
