PictureShow has just been updated to version 2.0, and what an update it is.
What's new?
- More cool styles added (22 styles)
- Frame style mode added. You can shake various frame styles, light effects & noise effects to create stunning photo.
- Photo can be shared via 'Flickr' in app.
- You can get unexpected cool effect right away by just clicking 'shuffle' button.
- You can go any style you want directly via 'Style List'.
- Contrast added in color edit mode.
I was never really a big fan of version 1.x of PictureShow, but this update has changed all that.
The app itself is easy to use, letting you take or import photos from the camera roll, and then apply a wide range of filter effects and frames/borders, as well as add text, control colour, contrast and brightness, all with the swipe of a finger.
Of all the features this app has, it is the the little red icon ('shuffle' button) found in the top right hand corner of the apps screen that is my favorite. Why I hear you ask, well this little icon when tapped randomly generates effects for you, combining both borders/frames with effects to produce some really nice results, and all photos can be saved full-res.
Although this is not a full review, this app comes highly recommended and I have no hesitation in giving this app 5 stars.

I just downloaded this app yesterday thanks to SCW and must say that it's amazing. It's like PICtone, but with more options and the set of filters is pretty amazing. All my flickr contacts have started trying it out too...well worth the money!
Agreed, I was happy to call it a 5/5 in my review at PocketPlastic.com yesterday. PictureShow was alright to begin with, but version 2.0 is a phenomenal update. It went from a rather simple 1.3MB application to a much more versatile tool with hundreds of possible effects, now weighing in at over 30MB. Very impressive work.
I'm really, really, REALLY impressed with this app (and i'm not that easy to impress LOL)
No doubt 5/5 stars! Just 1,39€...
This app is AMAZING!
I have lots of photo apps in my iPhone but PictureShow is going straight to the home screen!
I concur, this update gas turned a little used app on my phone into a great app

Downloaded this app today based on your 5* recommendation. It does NOT disappoint. I'm a big fan of hipstamatic and swankolab. Love the functionality. Love the fact you can add text as well. Tons of options. At 1.99$ you cannot go wrong. Great value. Get it.
Thanks for the reviews and votes of confidence for this app. I'll look into it. I wonder if an iPad version is coming out...
Ok, I am about to get this app.
I also gave this a 5* review in iTunes! It's fabulous! It is a TOP NOTCH app for creating some amazing, beautiful images. The frames! The lighting! The noise!! I'm in heaven playing around with this app! The processing time is so zippy, it makes me wonder what makes similar apps lag so much! The full size resolution, the saving & uploading options...I do believe you guys have thought of it all, then I read that you have ANOTHER update for it, which begs the question: what else will be added to this app?!
Quite amazing indeed.......but how do you disable the noises?!
Question: I have a 16 GB 3GS iPhone, with the resolution setting set to 2048. I just took a picture, edited it, and uploaded it to Flickr all from w/in the app, but when I view it at Flickr, it says it's 450x600. Where am I losing the setting from full resolution?
lunch [05.27.10]
**edit** I used Picture Show last night, saved the image to my Camera Roll, then uploaded the image using Flickit Pro and didn't lose any resolution...
0526.01
Is it possible the detail/resolution loss come from sending the image to Flickr direct from w/in the app?
**edit** That must be. I reprocessed the image using the same steps, from the original it saved to my Camera Roll, then repeated the steps to upload it using Flickit Pro, and there was no resolution loss.
I'm going to replace the low res image on Flickr w/the higher res one.
Seeing all those comments + 5 star i just couldn't resist downloading the app and damned am i glad i've done that so thanks to you all folks :-)) So great!
All I can say is this is THE app to own!
SCW
BTW... PictureShow 2.0 is Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Requires iPhone OS 2.2.1 or later.

Thanks. Another vote from me. Great app!
am i the only one who is getting little to no reponse when swiping sideways to change frames/noise/color?
i still love the app haha. i didn't like it before this update.. but now it's awesome.
@Ambrosia: The app seems to have a higher sensitivity for swiping vertically (the effect screen) than it does for swiping horizontally (frames/noise/color). I don't know what the secret is other than to keep trying, ha! Sometimes a more casual flick sideways produces the change when a more deliberate, forceful slide won't.
Haven't been keeping up with my iphoneography lately as business has started to finally p/u again (yes!). That being said, I visited the blog and read the comments on this app...GREAT APP! Haven't gotten to use it a lot yet, but so far I really like what I've been able to do with it. It has a lot of the best features of many of my favorite apps such as CameraBag, Hipstamatic & SwankoLab, with the ability to edit further, after applying effects. Nice job PictureShow peeps, it's a keeper. Shout out to SCW for gettin' behind this one. You're comments here sealed the deal for me.
