My photo, by Jeff White

Glyn Evans "Fasten your seatbelt Dorothy, 'cause Kansas is going bye-bye."
The original photo used by Jeff White to create this interesting image was not taken with an iPhone, so strictly speaking this is not iPhoneography, however it was processed on an iPhone using iPhone photo apps, and the original photo could have easily been taken with Jeff's iPhone.
What this photo does show however, is just what can be done with an iPhone and a range of apps, and a bit of imagination.
Photo 1: I started with a pretty simple self portrait on a white-ish background.
Photo 2: I made a simple black & white in ToonPAINT.
Photo 3: Staying in ToonPAINT, I painted the background red.
Photo 4: Photo 1 in DotCamera using 4/32/Grid On as the settings.
Photo 5: Photo 1 in StripeCam with horizontal stripes on the right half of the photo.
Photo 6: Photo 1 in StripeCam with vertical stripes on the top half of the photo.
Photo 7: Photo 5 in DotCamera using 4/32/Grid On as the settings.
Photo 8: Photo 6 in DotCamera using 4/32/Grid On as the settings.
Photo 9: Photos 5 and 6 in DXP using the halfmix composite effect.
Photo 10: Photos 5 and 6 in DXP using the multiply composite effect.
Photo 11: Photo 9 in DotCamera using 4/32/Grid On as the settings.
Photo 12: Photos 10 and 11 in DXP using the hardlight composite effect.
Photo 13: Photos 12 and 3 in DXP using the hardlight composite effect. FINISHED!
So this is how Jeff created his photo, if you would like to share your photo with the rest of us, then send me an email and I will send you details on how to submit.

Thanks for posting this Glyn. My mother is proud of her boy. I can't wait to see what other people come up with using similar techniques. I did a remix of this shot that is posted on my flickr photostream. Check it out along with some of my other iPhoneography.
Jeff White's picture is amazing! The depth and contrast really stands out!
This is a pretty interesting use of multiple apps. Thanks for sharing the process!
Now that I look at these photos in this format it occurs to me that photos 4,7 and 8 may be irrelevant. Sorry about that.
This is really cool work Jeff. I use DXP also, and when used with other apps, the possibilities for creativity are endless. So endless, if you are not careful in remembering the steps you took to come up with a final edited photo, it's hard to duplicate it again. So thanks for the steps.
I'm glad to see Tandem Systems photo apps being used on this blog. The DXP and StripeCam Apps are pretty amazing. Especially the DXP app, which IMO, is one of the best photo-editing apps on the iPhone. The only thing is the app developer hasn't updated their photo apps for a long time. They need to update to be able to save at full resolution.
Again, I am looking forward to view on this blog more work like Jeffs with the DXP app.
Thank you. I'm glad you like my pic.
I heard a rumor somewhere that DXP is working on a new update which may bring full res. I wish I could remember where I read that.
I really like the Tandem Systems apps as well. They lend themselves to really creative work.
Jeff, I came up with some pretty interesting outcomes with using DXP's masking feature. This feature lets you utilize other iPhone apps you have, like painting apps. The brushes app, for example has real good looking brush strokes, so using the masking feature you can "brush" a portion of an image on top of another.
One neat thing about the upcoming iPhone 4.0 OS, is that iPhoneographers can use the file app management feature to round up similar photo apps under one icon.
wow that's an awesome photo! Great use of apps!
